Trying my hand at Skyrim modding.
I occasionally play with Skyrim's construction set and sometimes I manage to make things work. For instance I once turned Havdar the imperial soilder from the beginning of the game female. Good fun when you follow him to his uncle (or her in this case) and he says "What happened to you boy?"
Anyway I'm brainstorming a guard cosmetic overhaul so they don't all look like they raided the Stormcloak armory. It should be fairly simple at first, but I want to get a bit more complex as I move along. (and for the fact Skyrim tends to boot me out or freeze or something like that) For instance in Whiterun, it has a horse emblem and the entire hold is pretty much tundra/plains. Its also a large city made wealthy by former glory and the fact its the heart of overland trade. Therefore I envision the guards to be heavily armed horsemen. They'd wear heavy plate armor and patrol on horseback if I can figure that out. Falkreach, being smaller would likely have guards that more resemble a Ranger. Markarth would outfit its guards in Dwarven gear, and their inventories would be better suited to fighting Forsworn as opposed to bandits. Windhelm, I'm not sure yet. They are the heart of the stormcloaks and I may just leave them the same . Winterhold guards would be all mage type or battlemages, but as Winterhold is pretty much an inn, and the College, they may be more of a hand me down kind of vibe. Morthal I don't know about yet, probably like Falkreacth but less Redguard influence. Solitude may reflect its wealth and devotion to the Empire. |
