Making a BE Visual Novel in 24h
I got bored and I wanted to really do something epic yet quick to do, so that I can continue working on CGF shortly after doing it.
So this evening I just decided to make a whole BE Visual Novel in under 24 hours. Hell yeah. I really liked this story http://www.overflowingbra.com/storyr...tm?rateID=2402 so I decided to do a little fanwork spinoff based on it. As of the time of this post, I have 21 hours and half left of time to complete it. I'll most frequently be on the FTF10 chat, giving updates. Base code done, bunch of BG's in, just need to grind and write the story and I'm finished with this quirk. Sorry for bothering you guys with it.

Fixed the tablet, just had to reinstall the drivers.
Also fixed the cowpointer bug and he invisible scrollbars in Cow girl farmer while that was being done because I had to do something. I think I'll manage to do this Visual Novel AND a Cow girl farmer update by the time I'm done. IM ON FIIIRREEEE Last edited by CuddleBeam; 11-12-2013 at 09:12 AM. |

I really don't think I will be able to finish this in time, guys, at least, in this try. Tablet keeps on dieing on me so I won't be able to do the art (If it didn't die all the time - I would be confident that I would be able to finish it.) Regardless, it served its purpose - getting me pumped and refocused. I'll just do some more glorious Cow Girl Farmer after this.
I kinda made Laura sloppy too, which isn't too amusing for something I've worked on. I also switched from a spinoff to a truthful adaptation. Here is the next part:http://www.mediafire.com/?9rlf59pm3393ia6 I won't continue it (now) because it wasn't finished under 24 hours and I need to work on Cow Girl Farmer. So, yeah, sorry about that. I will retry this achievement again some other time, with better preparation and a better plan, I don't think with the way I'm going now I will be able to pull it off in the 4 hours I've got left, considering that dispite Aphrodite is a hell of good story, its kinda really resource-heavy when brought into a game. Regardless, the 24-hour game achievement is something I really really want to do. I'll revisit this challenge again sometime in the future. Like all videogame achievements, you'll probably need to try several times before actually pulling it off. If anyone else has the courage to give it a try, Here is the method I used: -Mental status: You gotta be brave. Balls of steel or harder. -Format: Ren'py. Easy peasy. -Backrounds: Filtered photos. Keep a PS window open and add in more as you need them. -Characters: Just do the final drawing from the start on a single layer for the win. If you need a "draft", use a stock-photo. -Music: Freemusicarchive.com -Story: Adapt a pre-existing story, bro. Don't be silly. Maybe the "Devonshire Affair" or "Keeping up with the Jones" will be more feasible. It's mostly dialogue and I can accelerate the process by procedually incoding it. Or maybe "Miss Goodbody" (I got dibbs on this on). Yeah, I just have to retry this gimmick. I'll record it too, which would make it even more interesting. Oh yeeeah.
