Of course Devilman was a manga series. Kill La Kill is both an anime & manga series, and that didn't stop you.

Both are Manga, but I think the difference might have a little to do with the fact that Witchking has some familiarity with Kill La Kill and, from the looks of it, none with Devilman.

Knowing one manga does not equate to knowing all manga, and when it comes to inspiring a story, this distinction is vital.

Actually, there are OVA's heavily based on the original Devilman manga.

lol agree with all of you... I am not so familiar with the anime/manga of DEVILMAN... I will have to take a look to this serie and watch it or read it To see what inspiration I get to make a good comic if I decide to do one of this one

The video and manga versions of Devilman diverge early and quite heavily. The story lines are almost unrecognizable by the end, with that of the video being significantly kinder and gentler. You almost have to consume both.
