it is a minor project, no nudity.

But now some news...

Xil,

Just watched this, and have to say I was somewhat disappointed.

You should really garbagematte your model to help you pull a better key.

Here's some adivce that'll help:

What program are you using to pull your key?

To be honest, it doesn't look like a very good matt, you've got a lot aliasing around your edges. Applying a slight blur will help you get a better matt, then sharpen once you've got your key. Also, try matching your room lighting a bit better. Also, your matte is too much at times, causing your model to not only grow, but become invisible.

Use color curves to balance the color of the actress with the color of the room. Adjust gamma setting as needed.

Also, make sure your screen (blue for red hair, green for blond) is evenly lit with the minimal amount of wrinkles. If it's portable, I highly suggest setting up the screen in the room where the growing is going to occur, that way you'll match your lighting a lot better.

Also, a lot of people make the same mistake with green screen growth composites, they lower the camera that is taking pictures of the background. Don't do that unless you want us to feel like we're shrinking. If it's straight growth, just tilt the camera up.

Then, when you photograph your model, remember the tilt of the camera needs to match. Some simple geometry will tell you how much to move the camera.

E.G. If a 6' man and 5'6" model are standing 10 feet apart, then the camera will have to be at angle of tan-1(.5/10) (2.9 degrees) directed DOWN towards the model (POV MAN). So, film your background at this angle and leave the camera at a height of 6'. Now, if you want her to appear 8 feet tall, you point the camera UP at angle of tan-1(2/10) (5.7 degrees). When shooting your model, you lower the camera 1.4 feet below the height of your model (this will signify the height difference), leave it at the same angle (5.7 degrees), and you need to move the camera closer to the model. The camera should move from 10 feet away to about 7 feet away.

When shooting your background plate, Don't change the height of the camera or the distance from the background. Change the angle only.

If you want your model to appear 12 feet tall, you shoot her at angle of 31 degrees (Tan-1(6/10)) but the camera will be at half her height (2 feet 9 inches") (since she's now twice as tall as the man) and you'll need to move it so it's only about 4'7" away from her. Again, when shooting your background, change anything but the angle.

If you want to do some cool stuff with video while she's growing, you can, but you'll need a smooth dolly (wheelchairs work great) and you 'll need to be able to change the height of the camera. Of course, you'll have to match-move this to your background.

Also, if you can, use metric (meters, centimeters), it makes the math a lot simpler.

All this can easily be done with a program like Adobe's After Effects or Shake. I'm an editor/compositor myself that's done a lot of special effects work, so if you ever need help, let me know.

If you have any questions about the geometry or trigonometry involved, please don't hesitate to ask.
Take care,

If you ask me, from the looks of it I would say that the two most important things to get right about a growth vid are:

a) a good perspective, to make it look belivable that the woman is growing taller and taller, this isn't too hard to do, there are various clever techniques and workarounds you can use for this, unfortunately I'm not a film maker so I don't know any of them

b) the growth of the body, the enlargement of the breasts and the resultant clothes-ripping, which most growth fans are into. If you ask me, the sexiest thing about it is the reveal, so it would be a good idea for the woman to have her body covered up as much as it could be. This is difficult and adds to the budget but is important to get right. From the vibe I get most people are into breast growth and there are a vocal few who like foot growth. Breast growth is fine as they are always covered up, but the feet can often be just in sandals, and though this is a cheaper alternative, I feel that going with the sense of reveal, having them covered in shoes like pumps or at least wearing stockings/pantyhose would be a good idea, it gives them more to burst out of as well.
Aside from that the most effective means to show growth through the clothes is a belt snapping or the front of a shirt getting gradually tighter, holes peeping through between the buttons, and eventually the buttons popping of one at a time preferably, or all at once (like in the Attack of the 50ft woman scene). Its a funny thing how things are different in live action as they are to poser, as with poser it's much easier to show a woman growing in size but more difficult and time consuming to get any clothing to work realistically, yet with the live actions clips the reverse is true.

I hope this helps.
