The gist is that spock ears are better for musical purists, so they are getting surgeons to change their ear shape to a more pointed one. Although I won't be getting it done, it is a better trend then inserting random hoops of metal all over your body.

O_o seriously strange... Point I'd make is that you can get this kind of insane junk done just on a whim yet other pepole who want scars removed or Sex-reassginment surgery have to go through counciling and mental health channels first. (Esp if scarring is sevear)

I'm impressed. This takes audiophile crazy (which is pretty damned scary to begin with) to whole new levels.

They do look good on her, though.

Actually, no. Its not. That's an actual surgical procedure, Ive seen medical websites discussing it. Im not sure about the "after" pic though, as all they can do is reshape the ear, not extend it dramatically. The after pic looks a little too big to me.

I had a technology teacher that actually threw out his personal opinion on the next big craze in body modification was going to be. He thought it was going to be removal of the navel to give that perfectly smooth and flat stomach. Obviously wrong, as near as I can tell.

I'm not surprised to see people getting their ears pointed, though. It was only a matter of time.

Can't sleep so on a whim I decided to further demonstrate this.
Apparently, the pics posted there *ARE* a simple photo manip, as you can not make the ears longer.

Here's a more legitimate refrence explaining the real thing though.

Faked credentials to evidence of Photoshopping, not to mention that ear cartilage is nowhere near that pliable or good at self-repair.

Am I the only one who remembers an old episode of ER when a guy takes a pair of regular scissors to his ears so he could get the same result as this?

Sad thing is, I never even really watched ER; it was sheer chance that I saw that one part of the entire series.
