HDD Help

k, so i got a working mobo+ compatible processor, but the Bios won't recognize the HDD. that and the HDD is making a whiny spin-up noise and then clicking. it does this over and over. is it just damn broken? should i break down and get a new Computer? i hate all of this. it's just outside my competency level.

Clicking hard drive = dead, or as good as.
Otherwise I would have recommended checking your jumpers followed by making sure that the Master and Slaves are plugged into the correct positions on the IDE cables.
