I was trying to save space by pulling out just the relevant CGs. Then I realized the zipped version of 1/3 of the CG set was almost as big as the whole thing. I should have just uploaded the entire CG set.

I'm always amazed how well 7zip compresses BMP files. It may use a lot of CPU power compared to zip/rar, but man it really makes a difference in BMP CG sets. It not only saves space, but the time it takes to upload and download the files due to the smaller size.
