The Curse of Loki: Phase 5
I'm against kiddie Pr0n, so AR/AP was a murky line I was'nt looking forward to confronting. However; I did say at the beginning of all this that I would do a sequence in each section of the forum with this project. Hence I give you Phase 5, An AP sequence in which my principals were saved, by a maroon poncho! Any resemblence to characters from Starwars is just a trick of the light... or something... Don't sue me Lucas, I have no money.

Sweet! Another excellent continuation of this massive sequencial story. Dare I hope for the next installment in such a short timeframe as this one?

Growth will be a while.
Much as I want to bang off 6 and 7 as quickly as possible, Growth, by it's nature will be rather graphic intensive. For starters, I won't be able to omit the backdrop this time, which made the process of drawing and rendering Phase 4 and 5 go much faster.
However, I will be stepping up the pace because I really want to start on Calibur, despite the rather frigid response the preview got. I might as well throw this in now though, the title page to this entire series. It's not great, but it works as a title page anyway. And the Eisner for the most recycled drawings in one storyarc goes to... :P |

Heh... just as long as it's not another year wait. That was painful.
![]() And I'm sure everyone will like Calibur when it comes out. Shrinking isn't a big thing for me (hah... unintentional pun...) but it still looks fairly interesting. |

I don't get as much feedback as I'd like, and therefore I'm very apprieciative of those who do post feedback. So I thank the following people in the order their names came to mind.
Lorkeep, Trunkated, Indigo, SoylentOrange, Shadow, Night Scream, BelewBalls, ClosetPervert89, SteelDiv, Gaffenheimer, Tsokei, AgentM, Fred Londi, Chibikitty, Impracticalities, Kheben. There are others but the afforementioned gave the most constructive comments, and seemed not just to casually veiw, but to follow my work so far. Thanks guys/gals. As I've stated before I don't mind criticism. The most negative thing ever said about a piece of my artwork was "Those hands look like ass!" (Admittedly, the hands on my figures tend not to look very good, though the resemblence to ass escapes me.), so as long as you can be slightly more constructive than that you won't offend me. |

But... but! Those hands do look like ass! Nah I'm kidding the CoL series you have done are pretty damned good and it seems to be getting better as well.

Hi Sylph, I must say, I think you're undertaking quite a bit here for this project. Every process means you have to have a variety of skills to pull it off. From what I've seen so far, it looks like you got the moxie to do it. Now with this comic, she ends up looking pretty muscled. Would this also count as muscle growth or do you see her musculature as a part of her aging process?

Answer:
It would depend on what she originally looked like. In this phase it's not about a magic transmutation occurring, but rather being "undone". Apparantly the Curse of Loki tends to find muscular people. Also, as we age our musculature develops.
Part of this is also that most of my figures tend to be rather muscular looking due to my bass-ackwards drawing technique. According to every art teacher I've ever had you're supposed to start from the abstract, and draw figures that look like Pom dolls, then add detail. I usually do the opposite, starting with one minute detail, usually the left eye, and expanding the drawing outward. So I'll draw a person's body one muscle group at a time, then I have to go back and eliminate some of that definition according to how buff I want them to be. Results may vary. Even the freshly transgendered Lain has quite a bit of muscle on her, especially since I was trying very hard to make her as spare as possible. |
