I need help learning how to color stuff....

I dont know if this is the right place.. sorry.

Ok so... I was thinking of learning how to color digitally. As you can see.. I colored in my avatar recently... but I know I did it the wrong way.

Does anyone know of a great tutorial or a site (that has easy to follow intructions preferably... im not that smart)?
