Those Know-it-All, D-Bag Friends

Anyone here know someone, friend or associate, who acts like he/she knows EVERYTHING; and admits to never being wrong?

Last night, the dumbest of stupid arguments occurred while playing D&D. My DM/friend was explaining to me the definition of "adamant". And, while doing so, as if I were either a child or an ignorant retard. And, I could tell he looked it up; for he had laptop in front of him, and he spoke out its exact meaning. Before and after the explanation, I kept saying it meant, "Strong as sh*t." (not literally, but you know what I mean (I had a bad headache then))

Me and anyone else without an ego the size of my friend's would say we were both right about the meaning, but he wouldn't admit it; and was contempt that I was 100% wrong. What scares me is that he's going to be a father soon. I felt sorry for his soon-to-be daughter the moment I found out.

Last note of venting: He had the gall to correct me about Christian Bale being John Conner in the new Terminator film while we were watching the friggin' trailer at the theater. I knew this about two months before, AND I told him one month prior to watching said trailer.

I'd knock the guy stupid... But he's a friggin' ogre compared to me.

Well.. sounds like you could play a tactful mind game with him... get him to claim something that you know isn't true... record it on tape... then when the "research" is done and he changes his "opinion" you pull out the tape player and go... ."Oh really? You said this earlier" *tap play button*....

Kinda... scenario..
Although WHAT you'd do and HOW you'd pull it off would be another issue altogether and I'd have no clue how to do that. heh...

Real classy talking behind the guys back, feeling sorry for his children and making it like you need to be the know it all.

No I don't know people like that, I do know many people online. See the trend here. Most people offline I know are normal, people have 'extra' persona online. God complex it's called.

I actually did get back at him. When he kept "joking" that he knew everything, I disagreed with him. Before, he had it in his head that Blizzard had made Baldur's Gate. I corrected him about it, and I could tell he was trying to think of something to say to disprove my fact. I didn't need Wikipedia to outwit him... Just one year of playing WoW :P

I guess I am one of those people. I hate being wrong. I fear it. That is why I would always double or triple check my answers in school before I said anything.

Yea, I used to have to work with a guy like that.

When I was researching which laptop I wanted for Christmas (I wanted a decent gaming laptop so I could go anywhere and still play my faves) he decided to drop his two cents in, but decided I should be putting that money towards a desktop so I could get THAT MUCH MORE PC. I then had to remind him I'm not carting a 35 pound case plus monitor everywhere I go and I wanted a laptop.

This went on for weeks. And it's not the first time he's done it. And he's a born again Christian, so he's worse on that now. *sighs*

But I'm on 2nd shift now and pretty much won't have to deal with him at all anymore. There is a bright side to having your workplace reshuffle your life sometimes.

Thanks Lorekeep.

Offside: when I arrived at the Process I immediately recognised your signature but couldn't place it. A few weeks ago I was fiddling with my boyfriend's computer (I had permission) and came across a file called something like "lorekeepsig". I opened it and there it was: your signature picture. I guess my boyfriend saw it here years ago, liked it and wanted it all to himself. He's never used it. It just sits on his computer.
