a question about one peice

well ive not been watching it for that long, im to episode 288, but im watching them on here and many of the episodes have been cut out, that bad at one point that ive gone from robin just getting on the train to suddenly finding out they need 5keys to free her, and on episode 288 luffy used "gear third", what is that and what episode dose he first use it? and if any one could fill in the blank of what happend at water 7 id be most great full thanks a lot

I don't get where these guys come from when they say that the anime is a bastardization of the manga; there are barely any differences worth mentioning that I can see. Sure, there are fillers, but at least One Piece's fillers are actually worth watching, even if they aren't as good as manga-based material.

Oh wait, there was actually a question in this thread. Gear Third makes its first on-screen appearance at the end of episode 304. Enjoy, I know I did.

i know its pretty epic alright o.o

but how did he first start useing the gear's? and when? and also when does brook make an apperance

The anime's not the bastardization, the dub is. Elmo's probley watching the Dubbed version, which cut out an entire 50 or so episodes so they could introduce a villan who was in a game comeing out that year -_-

This arc is when he first starts using the gears, so you're probably seein em for the first time.

The first time he uses gear 2nd is when he's fightin the dude with the horns:
(badass fight btw)

Gear 3 is teased a couple times but not really seen until the end of the arc.

There is no real 1st gear cuz that's just regular ol' Luffy.

Not sure when Brook will make an appearance in the anime, after this arc the anime started playing fillers after fillers and I gave up on it. In the manga he's in the arc following this one.

I really do recommend you either track down the missing episodes or the manga in-between otherwise you'll miss some of Usopp's (scuse me, Soge King's) greatest moments. (burning of the flag, etc) Also, lots of Nico Robin's backstory and her really becoming part of the crew.

Nah, Elmo said he's at episode 288; not even Funimation's dub has gotten that far yet.

At any rate, I agree with resiz3d in that I didn't bother with the whole Don Achino arc. I have found that Brook's first appearance in the anime is in episode 338. The anime has actually gotten a pretty good ways into the arc by now, and it's had some great scenes of Brook.
