Coffeeman's 1st webcomic... be gentle...

Well, some know I was talking about doing this so... (deep breath) Here goes nothing.

http://www.smackjeeves.com/comicprofile.php?id=41618

Be honest, but the obvious inconsistancies I am aware of and I'm working them out, let me hear what you think you.

(all of the pages I posted will be up on the site by 12:05am tonight)

Oh, If you like it, cool. My "thanks" is attached.

Fan-frickin'-tastic so far. Granted they're just splash pages, but I'm looking forward to seeing the "real" comic start!

The transparent word balloons were a lil hard to read, but a fine start

Cool! You do art very well. By that I mean you are good at drawing!

Re: Coffeeman's 1st webcomic... be gentle...

Looks great, so far.

If you're worried about the transparent text bubbles, maybe just outline the white lettering with black or 75% gray.

My major concern is that webcomics should be visible entirely on one screen. And I have a pretty big monitor (1600x1200 resolution), so I know some folks must be scrolling forever to get to the bottom.

Also, the simple backgrounds will look marginally better if you down-size the frames a bit.

Not that it isn't neat to get full resolution comics. But it's not the best web-presentation strategy.

But, as you'll have noticed, I have no complaints about the drawing, composition, coloring, or story-telling. So well done on that front.

Not bad for your first time. It's not perfect, but I'm sure you'll improve in time.
I think the best advice I ever read from an professional comic book artists who I admire, is make the backgrounds count or get good at drawing backgrounds; even if you have to use reference.
You should make your webcomics at minimum of 1024x768 for browsers and quality. No higher, if you need to go low, no lower than 800x600 it will just make your high quality line art look like crap.

Not bad at all. The characters look fantastic as always. A little bit more on the backgrounds, and the size thing might be an issue. I had to scroll quite a bit to see it all and I'm using 1152x864 screen size. Interested to see where you go with it.
