Why is it that....

... the internet community likes fail yet find the normal and impressive boring? It's a question that was brought up with a friend today and the answer we got from the discussion is pretty much... " The internet society likes to see fail because something successful makes them feel depre4ssed for they can't achieve it."

Isn't it better to try to do something amazing rather than trying to produce fail? Why does internet society want to progress towards fail? I don't like it!

Also, people like to see fail because (1) They like to laugh at other people's misfortune and (2) They like to feel superior to others.

Oh it is not as dark as that kids.

FAIL is fun because humans can identify with it. Seeing some blundering fool is not all that epic when he expresses his fail. Seeing some one who is a normal run of the mill sort like ourselves, we can groan and remember our own failures with perhaps a little less salt in the wound.

How is it less than epic to make humans smile and perhaps snicker in the course of their daily lives? The Net offers great comfort for many and yes, too much for some. But were it not for the Net, think of all the odd buggers up at 3AM who might be lurking the streets. Just imagine this modern age without some form of release valve where strange humans can compare fetishes anonymously and feel less alone.

Do not discount the importance for someone who has thought all of their life “I am the only one who likes ____________.” when they discover that not only is their fetish common to a degree but other even more interesting ones they have never thought about are around.

It is better--no, easier--to succeed to fail, than to fail to succeed. Or at least socially and psychologically acceptable anyway... In other words, Internet people like to be lazy and not take the effort to succeed and just fail miserably, than to work at something that may or may not result in failure. That, and the whole superiority complex--definitely the superiority, because people love to cyber-bully and remain anonymous about it.
