Windows is HAUNTED! OHNOES!

Running Windows Vista....AKA Windows MEH!

I was running a malware scan yesterday and it was taking a very long time. So I disconnected my ethernet cord, and let it run. My wireless was off. And I woke up to see that Windows had installed updates and had rebooted, killing my malware scanner and everything. OHNOES!

Is Windows haunted?

HOW WAS IT ABLE TO UPDATE WHEN I WAS DISCONNECTED?

Vista will sneak in updates and not install them right away, but when you reboot. There were times a "Windows has installed updates and needs to reboot" (Will reboot in 5 mins unless you tell it no) window pops up in the corner when Im playing a game and the system didnt show me. Win7 is a *LITTLE* better about it, at least it asks by default.

Oh yeah, that reboot window thingy really pisses me off. The time before last it came up, I was playing Fallout. Hadn't saved in about an hour and a half. I wasn't exactly thrilled.

You guys do realize that in Vista you have the option of postponing installation by four hours, right?

Or turning off automatic updates?

There's lots of options. I thought you guys would know, being younger and more computer savvy than an old guy like me.

I actually had it off but had to reinstall windows and forgot all about it! Oh well. And how old are you, Shatner? Younger than Nimoy, I bet!

My boyfriend has this shirt he refers to as the "Kirk Shirt". It's a close fitting long sleeved t-shirt. It is the exact colour of the uniform Shatner wore when he played Captain Kirk. It makes my boyfriend feel very sexy.

He'll be thirty-seven in a few weeks.
