Here's a conundrum:

My mom wants to become a member of Homeland Security. They will likely run a scan on the computer I currently use to see if there is anything on there suspicious. I look around here, and a few other websites linked from here, and I wonder how likely it is I'm going to be arrested for lolita stuffs. I mean, I don't LOOK at it, but it's been around here and some other, similar places (page of boobs, mostly).

No, seriously, I'm wondering if I should do a wipe or something.

Re: Here's a conundrum:

If the art isn't on your pc you can't be arrested, but I would store all your personal files into an external drive and delete them just to make sure......

Re: Here's a conundrum:

I don't save it. I just see it online. I never save anything that I don't like, and I don't like loli. However, I thought things you look at online are saved onto your hard drive.

Be aware, I wouldn't know. >_>

Re: Here's a conundrum:

They will be in your temp files, you should clear those out regularly because it will help your pc run faster ^_^

OHMY! How do you become a member of Homeland Security? Are you sure she isn't joshing you? Or is this like a job she's applied for? Are you sure they will care about her home computer use? Sounds weird!

Re: Here's a conundrum:

That makes sense.

Thanks. ('_')/

EDIT: Oh, yeah, she's taking classes and everything. Homeland security is pretty important right now, I'd assume, so I'd guess they'd do a search.

Well, it makes sense that they would screen her. I wonder if they would actually bother with her possessions though.

Re: Here's a conundrum:

Ok, putting on my “Serious Glasses”

A buddy of mine graduated MIT with honors WAYYYYY back in 84. He was tapped by DOD for hardcore big time research deals. Of course, he had to go through a rigorous background check and offer references. One of which was me.

Now, I told him “I will not LIE or cover up for you with the FBI” and knowing he was a boozer almost as bad as I was and a serious drug user, I made it clear that I would be honest in answers. After all, lying to the FBI is VERY bad luck. Well, he told me to go ahead and not to worry. So, I did tell the interviewer about the mad BONG PARTIES, Drunken D&D games that took days at a clip and the fact that he banged anything that would follow him to his room.

A few months later, he is happy in big time DOD gig. He had told the FBI all of his exploits (That he could recall) and they liked…LIKED his open honesty and made the call that he could be depended on. He is still at it to this day, married, kids, house and girl friend.

SO, do not freak unless you have Ped@ stuff or how to build a nuke for Allah. If you do? My advice is, unless you have about 12 proxies going, they know all about your habits already and probably could not care less.

Those who fear searches are aware they have something to hide.

Either that or they are just conscious of their privacy.
