My mom is crying because I reveal 'personal' information to friends.

All I tell 'em is that my mom won't let me play some games, and that I'm Autistic, and she freaks.

I'm proud of being Autistic, dammit. She thinks people will blackmail me, use the information against me, or something along those lines. And that employers won't hire me.

And every time I try and cite something that proves otherwise, she says that 'those things aren't always true.'

Goddammit. -_-

No offense mate, but your mum sounds like a bit of an arse.

Well, she probably just wants to protect you. Don't know what else to say.

Autistic?
Seriously? Like Rainman? Can you count toothpicks in no time when I throw them on the ground?

I was diagnosed maybe when I was 2-3. Not entirely sure. It was in 1991-1993, definitely. It's Aspergers, specifically.

Also, I can count quickly, but not insanely fast. I still have to sing the damn alphabet song when I have to remember where a certain letter is. >_>

Thats a fairly recent form. Well to be exact not recently discovered but recently accepted on a more world wide spectrum. Thanks for answering. I just like to know more about such things and very interested in how truly limiting it is.

If it helps at all, I would not of guessed by your posts.

Well, to be fair, it's a high-functioning level of autism. The school I went to specialized in disabled kids, and I saw some things that were sad (on an intellectual level, anyway.)

We had one kid who asked a World War II pilot veteran if he survived.

Goddammit why do I remember that.
