Hello all-
I'm working on a three part comic script to be published by the giantessclub. Right now I'm trying to decide between a couple different ideas, but I realized that most of them incorporate other types of growth along with giantess (with giantess being the main focus of course.) I'm wondering if this is frowned upon. Most of my stories have involved various types of growth as it's a personal preference- but it seems to me that most giantess stories/comics are strictly giantess only. Just looking for some opinions and as I'm still percolating my ideas, any suggestions are appreciated. What's been done to death? If you're familiar with my work, what do you think I could bring to this interest? Or simply what's been sorely missing.

Well, one one hand it depends on what kind you're talking about, and on the other, it depends on Portal Comix ability to do it (I assume Portal Comix is doing the work ahead of time, otherwise, sadly, it's a moot point altogether). This latter is especially something that people writing for them don't seem to take into account.

For example, it's a WELL-established fact by now, I should think, that Portal Comix are incapable of rendering Muscle Growth and individualized balloon/belly/etc. expansion of any kind. The one or two times people have requested/written it into their scripts, PC just changes it into full on weight gain and size growth which they can handle. So that's two types out right there.

On the other hand, a lot of other types of growth can and usually are just incorporated into normal size growth without much of a notice. For example, pretty much every growth sequence written for the Giantess Club (and to a lesser degree the few growth stories at the BESC) ALL include Breast Expansion along with growth. They almost naturally and symbiotically go together, lol. Likewise, Age Progression sort of involves growth (and clothes ripping unless they retroactively adjust) intrinsically, even if to a lesser height degree, but could always lead into that girl continuing to increase in size.

Other than that, I'm not sure what that leaves. I'm not a fan of any of the bodymorph/monsterfication/multiple limb/conjoinment transformations since I personally find them kind of fugly, boner-killing, etc., and since PC style is so realistic, animal transformations seem kinda unsexy also, but all that's your call. I'm not really a huge fan of TG either, which is the only other transformation that comes to mind, but at the very least I can't think of any stories exploring a guy turning to a girl and THEN growing, so like-it-or-not you'd have a somewhat original concept on your hands, lol.

I'm personally more interested in you stringing together a great mix of shmexy growth, with at least enough of a running plot as you can in a few dozen pages to keep it interesting beyond 'here is a fetish scene, and an excuse for it to happen', and girls (and possibly guys) that I can enjoy looking at/reading about/fapping to, whatever for 30-odd pages. Something I think hasn't been done to death yet are comics/stories which explore any sort of dynamic between guys/girls when the girl is growing (regardless of what that dynamic might be), because they're mostly so short as to be "here is the girl growing...this is the immediate situation...the end."

This is not necessarily growth, but one thing that I rarely see with GTS is TG. If you're looking to do something more original, I suggest combining these two.

Dsojourn you bring up many good points. Especially concerning the artists- that's something everyone writing comics should keep in mind. I had heard several times about failed attempts at muscle, and I had a body inflation turned into a weight gain for "Till She Gets Her Way" to my dismay. I've also found them reluctant to depict clothes under stress (buttons, stitching, etc.) though sometimes they do pull this off. I just went back and checked your story "Stranger then Fiction" at the BESC and I can see where you were probably attempting muscle growth (a fun story by the way- a bit text heavy- but a great collection of fun growth situations (and a red-head! something Portal seems to do well at and I should try.))

It seems no one as yet is against having multiple expansions in a story, so I will probably continue along this route.

I have one story that I think I'm going to develop. I worried that the plot was too involved, but I like where it leads. I had the same concerns with "The Great Emulation," but I think everyone understood the story and I was able to move the plot along with lots and lots of growth.

Since people are pretty selective about their fetishes I think it's going to be pretty hard to incorporate stuff with growth that's not going to invoke some kind of nerd rage.

I'm personally a fan of futa, hourglass transformations, and butt/lip inflation. I love it when stories deal with issues like jealousy fueling growth, or sexual frustration causing it. I'd also like to see a young couple grow together, like in Big Nymphomaniac. I'd also like to see stories that pick out situations I can fantasize myself into like girls camming or growing in class. I like the way artists like Hardblush show characters with some personality. Comics with goth, industrial, scene, and hipster boys and girls help me fantasize myself into them, mostly because that's who I date and that's who I'm attracted to. I'd like to see growth comics take some risks and make some characters that have more going on than being a generic canvas to paint a fetish onto.

Well, what I'm thinking of doing is a story where the main character experiences a straightforward growth to giantess while minor characters experience other types of growth. My secondary concept was a girl who alone experiences a variety of types of growth- not all at once, but as separate events. This I think some may have a problem with since even though giantess growth would be the most seen event, a lot of time would be spent on other experiences.
