BE Animated gifs!

Hello.

The other thread I had made was obviously a terribly leaky boat as it sank immediately after it set sail. I figured if I'm making more animations, I should make a new thread to put them all in so people get the idea that it's not just the first post that has content in it and bail before the water even starts to spring in.

Animation is done in Photoshop in a frame by frame basis, redrawing anything parts that need animating and not the entire image (unless I need full body motion, but that's a bit a ways off). It's also terrible and I have to brute force my way through the whole thing. Which means I can't test the anim until I finish the main work of it.

Attached is the other two animations I made and posted in that other thread as well as the latest attempt. The second BE (of Ranma) is about half finished, but I don't think I'll be finishing it. The NEW animation I made however is as done as I can make it. I can make some minor changes here or there but mainly, it's done.

Just a reminder, these aren't the only animations I will be making, so stick around.

The only good photoshop is at animation comes in the form of making animated buttons/rollovers and minor special effects. You'd be better off with Easytoon if you want to hand-animate something. Then you might have a chance of reinspiring another BE-Animator, Matsu-sensei.

Easytoon was terrible for me. It was like giving up all the control and ability for something I might as well have done with my NDS. It doesn't support my hefty work attempts. Speaking of which...

I was going to show off that the animations all start at my usual starting drawing size of 1500x2000 before I half size them for the forums by posting a full size version of the latest animation only to be unable to do so because I ran out of memory and it couldn't complete the save even at 75% it's size. O_o I've run into the memory problem before, but it was never so absolute in it's refusal to save then it was with the new one. Chances are, it's because I added an asston of stuff to it. So, uh, I guess if I'm going to do anything more complicated then that I'll have to start making some cut backs. ^^;

As a consolation, here's the first, middle and last still frames of the anim instead.

Or, you can make the GIFs in pieces, then either you can stitch em together or have someone else do it.

That is possible, but a lot more work then I want to get into yet. Speaking of work.

New anim. Not totally finished (no facial animations) but that's part of the 'after' part of making the animations, and I already put my nights worth of work in it for the time being. Tried a few new things, some worked some didn't. Whatever, learning experience. Not too bad for some odd over two hours of work from scratch. ^^;

Her arms have been tied up behind her back with that ribbon by the way. Guess someone got a nice present. It's even inflatable!

Only one problem: Vista keeps opening gifs in IE, where each frame leaves a grey shadow, meaning that by the end of the animation there's a bunch of garbled stuff on screen. REALLY irritating.

Oooh, very nice, Test.

My one complaint is that the bottom button would be the last to go, probably, since in terms of distance the cloth is being pulled from, it would have the least amount of stress on it and so forth.

Still, great animation, can't wait to see what you come up with next!

Yep.


Soy: The expansion was more bottom heavy then even rounded out expansion, so I figured the bottom should go second. Also somewhat because I reuse the same buttons flying off for both sides, so I needed it to be off the screen just in time for the top one to go flying.
