This is the same site responsible for the petition that helped bring down the legislation that was going to allow the US Government to censor the Internet at will by taking down any sites they wish. Please help by filling out this petition, don't let our government outlaw freedom of the press under our watch!

The way I recall things,those of us outside the USA regarded
embedding as nothing more than a propaganda exercise.George

The moral equivalency of such statements is amusing to me. It also seems such attitudes are on the rise in the past decade. Regardless, Assange deserves no help until he does something to aid all the translators and interpreters whom his infodump revealed to their enemies.

Given how banal the US documents are, he really shouldn't have wasted his time and put all those people at risk.

In Assange's defense, he did ask the US State Dept for advice on redacting the cables. State refused. Wikileaks haven't been great about document redaction in the past, but they have been doing a much better job lately. Some of the documents in their "war logs" dump were more heavily redacted than some of the versions that the DOD released due to FOIA requests.

This really isn't about saving him from his crimes, it's more about saving us from senators changing our constitution to make reporting news that they don't want us to hear illegal.
