The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Well seeing as how the scale up option returns I figured we should make a thread for this awesome game. Thankfully, it isn't limited by the 2.0 limit of Oblivion, though I can't say whether 10.0 is the limit like in the fallout games or if you can go higher. Only problem is that the camera doesn't scale up to match your size (when I tried it it was 5.0) nor does it speed up, and it appears that you can no longer use "setscaleex" in this game. Hopefully someone will make a mod for size shifting. Maybe it could be a new kind of shout? :P
Anyway, thoughts? |

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Hmm well a giant race as a mod should be possible although during cutscenes that might be problematic, considering like in Fallout npcs look up or down on you depending on your height.
But like the giants in the game, changing your scale to that shouldn't be too troublesome.

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Reposting the observations I've made on GTSCity:
1) Werewolves have a transformation animation. Depending on how this works, it might be possible to edit it to create smooth growth. Barring that, if it's a static transformation, someone could make an animation for such a mod. 2) Mammoths shake the ground when they walk. If this isn't hardcoded (like how radroaches were the only mob you could stomp on as an attack in Fallout 3) it could be possible to give this attribute to a giantess mob. It could even be possible to make a script that would give the attribute to your character when she exceeds a certain height threshold and then remove it if she shrinks back. Combine this with a passive fear effect that doesn't make neutral mobs go hostile and we could have a really immersive, playable GTS mod. I've had one growth mod idea so far: a mod that increases the size of a female PC whenever a dragon soul is absorbed. It's possible that I could even reuse scripting from my Attack of the 50 Foot Woman mod, though it'd obviously have to get a new title to better fit thematically. ![]() An idea posted by FreshSalmon is to make a shout that will grow your PC temporarily. This might be tricky depending on how shouts work, especially if we can't add more shouts. Assuming we can, we'd then have to find a way to inject that shout into the game world. As far as getting greater than 10x scales is concerned, we'll probably have to wait for the script extender mod for that. With no CS, there is no telling when that will come out. Thankfully, Skyrim seems to be a little bit smarter about scales and collision this time around. Big characters will still clip through objects if they are pathed to walk under them when normal sized, but the infamous bug where giants would fall a short distance and die, that cropped up in Fallout 3, seems to be gone.

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
So... big fan of gts!
Anyway... Speed scales if you reload the game. Say you go from 1 to 5 with player.setscale or setscale while targeting something, like a housecarl, follower, and or anyone they get bigger. You save and then load your game they are as fast and as strong as the size they are. A mod that would make the ground shake would be great! Giants make the ground shake too... Just a thought. Get modding! ![]() |

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Didn't know stuff scaled on reload. I was going to make my Nord larger, but when I did so, first person POV was still down low for her. I'll try the reload trick and see if that works. If so, that would be freaking awesome.

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Well it's been confirmed that the Construction set will be released this January, and it's supposed to have even more options then before.

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Though Skyrim modding folk are annoyed by that and some unofficial editors are floating around.

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Because the release for the official CK got pushed to January while they work on patches that only tend to break the game and dubious Steam Workshop devilry?
I found a program, SkyEdit, but it looks like it can't modify NPCs for now, just weapons and spells. ![]()
