SheWolf crowd funded project
Based on a conversation in Missa's SheWolf thread http://process-productions.com/forum...t=34037&page=3 there is some interest in crowd funding a SheWolf movie project.
Started this thread so it can be discussed. |

I'd be willing to chip in on that.

Re: SheWolf crowd funded project
Although not a huge werewolf fan, my 2 cents is that someone who understands film and knows the industry at least slightly needs to step forward to helm the project before things can go any further. Otherwise any money thrown at a clip will be used inefficiently

Re: SheWolf crowd funded project
I think somebody like Mako would have to head a project like this simply because he's the only person I know around these parts that has worked in the Hollywood vein of special effects and props. Since he's done so many types of effects and has used a variety of different props, he might know people that would be willing to help out, for a price.

Kickstarter is not "hey, let's all pool our money and make something!" it's "I can make something, but I need funding to get it off the ground." A project where nobody involved knows their ass from a hole in the ground is doomed to failure and is a waste of time and money for all involved.

Re: SheWolf crowd funded project
I, too, have filmmaking skills but our separate locations make this difficult to achieve. That being said, I got a kick ass idea for a werewolf film a few nights ago that is original enough and still gives werewolf fans the visuals they want, a decent story, and still allows for the person changing to describe it, just like in the stories we love.

Re: SheWolf crowd funded project
As I stated before in the original thread, I’m all behind this idea and willing to contribute some funds. I like the idea of going to Mako, but I’m sure he’s incredibly busy.

Re: SheWolf crowd funded project
As I recall there was a article on the internet
a decade ago about cheapo African videos being produced for $10,000 US Go there with your script and the money and the villagers would make your movie for you. Perhaps $20K these days will get you a American Werelioness in Johannesberg?

Morwalugi, this thread is for discussion. No one is talking about trying to "sell a script". This thing has no form yet. If you don't care to be involved, please don't post on this thread. In fact, I'd appreciate if a moderator would just remove your two posts. |

Re: SheWolf crowd funded project
There is a report post function.
I think a kickstarter is the way to go. Have the filmmaker set different stretch targets based on the budget required for each thing. $50 gets contacts and sfx for eyes, $100 gets claws and sfx for hands and feet, $200 gets fangs and sfx for teeth, etc... Then have further stretch goals e.g. At $2000 they get prosthetics for hands to do higher quality effects. And if a project like this should really max out and basically run out of things to do, then perhaps further stretch goals (however unlikely they may be) could be used to get a commitment to reuse the assets obtained for the original project and make more films with them |

Re: SheWolf crowd funded project
Thanks for pointing that out.
As far as the project goes, I thought figuring out what to do before anyone starts asking for money might be a good idea. Start with a story at least. Regardless I think one or a few people should take the lead. I think it needs a clear direction. |
