Do animals ears count as a TF?

In the second half of the new "Hayate no Gotoku! OVA" Hinagiku suddenly gains donkey ears. Her ears remain at the end of the OVA implying that she may still have them in the next OVA.

I'd wager fox-ears more than rabbit-ears given the darker tips. The thing is Hinagiku doesn't exactly have a fox-like personality and I don't think there's been any indication of a 'tanuki-character' complementing her in rivalry (if anything Nagi comes off as more of a fox-like personality), kinda like Kaoru and Megumi in Rurouni Kenshin.

Mind you I've yet to read all of Hayate no Gotoku, so I'm probably wrong.

Though it could just be generic animal ears/kemonomimi. I always see donkey ears as being depicted as taller/longer.

I am not sure if ether of you watched the OVA but it was directly stated in it that they were donkey ears.

Naw she dosen't. The plot is simply about her efforts to have the ears disappear.
