Unhappy Unsatisfying TF in SOUND OF THUNDER

Yep, I actually went to see SOUND OF THUNDER on Sunday, curious how they were going to get an entire movie out of Bradbury's famous short story.

On the over-all quality of the movie, all I'll say is that rottontomatoes.com gives it a freshness rating of 8%.

Anyway, in the movie, the famous time-altering event causes "time waves" to ripple that cause evolution to go wild. (But, somehow, everyone in the movie remembers the way the world used to be before the time waves came!) Humans are the last things to devolve, because we were the last (?!) special to evolve. And we see the main female scientist of the film after -- but, sadly, not during -- her devolution.

In all, both for TF and the general quality of the movie, I recommend you wait for the cheap theaters -- which should be in about two weeks time. Or, better yet, hope that they bring back MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000 for this movie.

If you mean the short story, it's nothing like what MaleKim describes. It's very good, though, so you should read it anyway. But there's no transformation content at all in the original.

If you mean a novelization of the movie... well, good luck.

it was an offscreen transformation or rather, evolution of human into a bipedal catfish creature, and poorly done at that.
