Her dead mother came back from the dead and she dont want her daughter to marry some everyday person, so she ARs her, until she says shell move to the suburbs and marry a doctor and poof, she APs to her old age again.

She didn't mean it, though, she just wanted to get rid of her. At the end, when she's telling it all to her fellow paranormal investigators, the guy with the transparent head says "I'm a doctor."
