TES: Oblivion Growth Sequence

Some of you (mostly those on GC forums) might remember the whole "OMG Oblivion has a scale setting for characters!" aeons ago when the game first came out. Leper and I did our best to abuse it but there really wasn't much to work with in the game and the scale factors were very limiting. I lost interest in the game due to it's (in my opinion) poor scaling level design, and it pretty much vanished from the GTS radar.

Well I decided to pick the game up and give it another shot, hoping some user mods would remedy the problems I had in the first place. While poking around user mods I came across some others that simply made the game look better. After some work and heartbreak (mostly graphical errors and reinstalling Oblivion no less than 5 times) I got the game looking more or less how I wanted.

With the game looking better than ever and holding the promise of balanced gameplay, my interest was rekindled! While playing I felt compelled to touch back on the giantess aspect of the game, and set about making this sequence. Here's some previews while the .rar uploads.

UPDATE: All right the .rar with all 127 images (plus a couple extras at alternative angles) is uploaded and available. You can find it here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=CDWFYYYD

Here's how I did it.

Very nice! You set these shots up very well.
Any chance you could share your plugin roster as well? The files might be a bit much here, but a list or something would be nice.

I would also be interested in seeing a link to / list of the mods you use. One of the reasons I've avoided Oblivion so far (other than the extrordinary amount of time it would eat) is how unbalanced I've seen the game to be. Not to mention I enjoyed modding the heck out of Morrowind.

More on topic though, this looks like a pretty cool sequence. Nice work!

This is PC version only folks. Sorry but you cant edit the game at the same level with the 360, at least not as easily. And I will not resubmit this file as a zip, it's easier for you to download WinRAR than it is for me to upload a 2nd 125 MB archive.

All right, here is a list of the mods I'm using. I'll specify the ones relevant to making the game pretty for giantess purposes.Using Oblivion Mod Manager (OMM) I have also loaded:Outside of mods and OMM files I have replaced most textures and menus in the game using:* You need all these mods to get the game looking as good as mine, however if you only care about the figure you don't need the texture replacements. You also do not need "Actors in Charge" but I recommend it to get your character to move and pose while you're taking pictures.

All of these mods and the Construction Set (you'll need that too) are available here

For the uninitiated, you may not know that Oblivion has a caps on in game scale modification at 0.5 and 2.0. As such you cannot get the girl as big as I have her in my images just willy nilly. But there's a convoluted, long winded way to get around that!
  • Back up Beautiful People.esp.
  • Open Beautiful People.esp in TES Construction Set (Oblivion).
  • Go to Character>Races.
  • Duplicate a race (I prefer Brenton or Imperial as they look the most human). I use Ren's mod because it has hair models that don't look like old towels.
  • Reassign it's possible hair models (in game they wont have any unless you delete and reassign them).
  • Then duplicate that race 3 times (4 duplicates in all).
  • Go into the body data tab and change the Female Body's height and weight data to a distinct number for 3 of the duplicate races. ex. One race could have a height and weight of 1.11 and 1.12, while the next race could use 1.21 and 1.22. If you set it higher than 2.00 construction set will reset it to 2.00.
  • Once 3 of the duplicates have distinct numbers, save and exit Construction Set.
  • Open Beautiful People.esp with a hex editor (I use hex workshop) and search for a 32 bit float that matches the height and weight data of those races, then edit them.
Note After 9.00 it will be hard to see the character because the engine will be drawing parts of the character so far from the camera that it will fade her out before you can view her whole body.
Note If you open the mod with the Construction Set and use the Race Editor, if you click on the edited races there is a chance that it will reset the height and weight data to 2.00. If you actually click on the body data tab there is a certainty that it will do that.
  • In game, make a character using the race that you duplicated and didn't change the height data (so you can see their face in the character creation tool).
  • After you made the character, open up the console by hitting the ~ key and type "showracemenu" without the quotes. From there you can change your race to one of the bigger races. Since they're the same base the faces will remain unchanged.
Note It resets the hair style to default when you change races.
  • From here you can use the console and type "player.setscale x.xx" (or click on her and just type "setscale x.xx") for any number between 0.5 and 2.0.
  • The end result is you slowly bump up the scale on one race, then jump to the next size up. Set that race's scale to 0.5 then repeat the process.

And that's why they don't let me in the zoo anymore. Wait, what was I talking about? Ask if you have any other questions.

Wow thats a big file o_o

I don't think I can download it (or due to 50 min+ time rate)

But from the preview shots, it looks good to me ^__^

LinkG07: Yea it's a beast. What's worse is that all 127 images saved as .bmp's. It's was irritating as hell to save all of those files as .jpgs just to bring it down from 512 mbs.

Fallen One: Sorry to hear that. I have a connection with blazing download but absolutely no upload capacity, so I cant go hosting this fatty at will. However if someone else were willing to re-host it (perhaps in parts, for those like LinkG) that'd be ducky.
