The GTS community will have lost one of its best.
At least he'll be going out with a bang.

Sigh, Chief is to say, the second best I have ever seen, the very King of Aces when it came to giantess & just art in general, he had coloring issues, but they were always still good & up there. His art was good because it had a sense of life & love added in each portrait. Sad to say, life does go on, things change, people change, & life changes, but I am glad to hear he isn't just disappearing. Hopefully, someday, he'll tell his wife & come back into the game again.

Exact words from the first page .
I've alluded to it far too much, just gonna come out and say that this time of inactivity is gearing up for my "farewell tour".

I have several projects that I am going to finish or try to finish. I will list them here. After that, I will be done with drawing GTS, at the very least. However, seeing how this list is not that short, my farewell to GTS art may end up being as long as a Cher farewell tour.

In some particular order, though it may not always be followed as such:

Peach: Finishing the Peach/Rosetta drawing. I still have to put some "?" blocks and pipes on Peach's knockers, as well as get the galaxy by Rosetta drawn AND the final inset on the bottom right to finish the short scenario. Found here: http://forum.giantesscity.com/viewto...p?f=25&t=38842

Kim and Shego series colab with JodaGee: Finishing the series. Pics 1 & 3 are finished. There is 2 & 4 to go. (Trust me the size gets pretty insane, as is par when Joda and I work together.
Pic 1: http://chief.giantesscity.com/images...lypossible.jpg
Pic 3: http://chief.giantesscity.com/images/06/shego.jpg

April O'Neil: Another shameless GTS cartoon parody drawing. But how could I have missed her for so long?? One of the most underrated large racks in cartoon history, plus a strange but form-fitting banana suit and auburn/red hair? The 80's/90's version, not the new Kim Possible bland style April.

Jessie/Musashi: A fairly large amount of folks have told me that because of my Jessie GTS drawings, a character who was previously thought of as strange and not particularly gaze worthy, became one of their favorites. This is probably the single most proud achievement during my time sharing my giantess drawings. I don't obsess over anything, much less a cartoon character -- but over time I have found that to a certain extent, Peach and Jessie have become mine. How could I quit before doing one last epic Jessie picture? I wouldn't; and I won't. Look forward to this one before all is said and done.

Jerrica: This goes without saying. I didn't draw her nearly enough, but she has grown (pardon the pun) so much since the first time I conceptualized her. I want to use her in some other capacity in the future perhaps.

Elastigirl: Epic ass, 'nuff said.

Dexter's Mom and Deb from Robot Boy: This last one of the single piece list might seem strange. But I have always wanted to do Dexter's mom in a GTS piece. Why for goodness sakes? Another case of turning a previously not really thought of as attractive character into a sexy one. In the cartoon, she has an epic ass...could you imagine that GTS sized? Hell yeah. And the same goes for the mom in Robotboy (Which is a cuter and more interesting cartoon than I would have guessed). In fact that mom (Debbie) actually TRUMPS Dexter's momma in that regard (jeepers, you could have some tea off that thing!). I have them paired together, as I might just put them together in one MILF-mega-goddess-booty-giantess extravaganza.

Other projects:

Site redesign: I want to make my site Flash. I also want to have a semi-interactive GTS thing going on on my page. (Much better than Alice, trust me...something involving character changes too.). I would probably drop the "2003" gallery as it makes me shudder, and add the "2007" in its place. Once I would finish this site, it would be as it will be forevah!

Weekly/Bi-weekly/Monthly GTS series: This would be the last thing. I kinda have a neat idea for a very long epic GTS story. I would be able to do it in my short time, as I would make it only one strip even week or so. Times by 52 weeks in a year, and it would be pretty big. Finish this, and I would be done. Once I would get to starting this, this would be the only GTS thing I would do. I am debating on whether having it star Jerri or a completely new giantess (as it would be a little bit darker story).

That's it. Now that I have this schedule fleshed out, I am hoping it will make it easier for me to adhere to, and I know how I would be going out. I actually mostly did this for my own benefit, hehe, but thought you might enjoy getting inside my head a bit...(I know, it can be a frightening place).

*I know, I should finish Mae-Lin too...I will try to squeeze that in...

next his manefesto page giving his reasoning.

I typed this meaning it as an unrelated response to my quitting thread, but my thoughts and ramblings and opinions spewed out here. If you want, give a read, as it does concern somewhat the current state of GTS artistry.

Thoughts and opinions always welcome, I love a community that can foster ideas without feeling like they are hurting someone.

There was another post lamenting where JodaGee had gone (Although knowing him well (for an Internet (TM) friend), he will be back), and then asking about the artists as a whole.

Basement Hubby DOES know me best: I feel the giantess fetish will never leave someone, but the sexual drive to be active within it can and usually DOES wane (Usually after establishing a life/career/marriage). Joda comes and goes due to his job, Grim came and went and while I know there are a couple newish pictures by him floating around, he most likely won't ever be back in any full time capacity due to finishing school and subsequent work/career in art, Karbo seems to be busy enough in life too, and Argus....well...with that truckin' maniac, who KNOWS what happened.

Point is, the life cycle of a fetish artist is extremely low, I think. Unless you are doing vanilla fluff-nudity (like...Zimmerman's work for example) which is not only more readily acceptable (Kurt Vonnegut drawing an asshole, I mean, come on?) by the general public, but easier to expand upon, and even make a career out of, the burn out time is very low. 1) You can eventually object to drawing GTS as it conflicts with the "moral" world around you (Coldasice), 2) you simply have no time in life any longer (let's admit it, if I did a sampling of the community here, wait, I don't have to to know that probably 75% are around traditional university age (or at least 20 something, young 30 something), and 85% are single (not married), and I think those numbers might be conservative: both of those things lead to a lot of free time and a lot of pent up sexual energy to let go of), 3) you lose the crazy sexual libido purely devoted to the Giantess fetish, and 4) some wish to pursue a stab at (nearly fantasy) making a career out of more practical art media.

I fall under 2, 3, 4. Can't forget that many of the giantess artists don't like JUST giantess, so even with time and libido permitting, who is to say one would spend that drawing of the GIANTESS fetish. I was one of the few artists here I think, who actually didn't give a crap about other things (I don't care for furry, foot fetishes, bondage, rolling around on the prairie grass, etc etc)

We have established that because Giantess is such a niche fetish, the turnover rate for artists, especially, is very high. So what can we do about it?

1) Get more active, normal people to scout things out. Grim and I came to this community because of Blar (love him or hate him with a side of ice cream). I think Grim isn't even into GTS that much, but Blar convinced him to do some cool things. As for me, he convinced me to share my stuff publicly. He did it (at the time) in a non-fanatic way that was pretty welcoming without being scary (Yes, I know some people think Blar would not be capable of such things, but he did it).
2) Get more selective. Don't flame me for this, but it seems to me that everyone and their grandma's parakeet is drawing Giantess nowadays. That's just wonderful....I love participation. To a point. We need to be able to "weed out" the ones who would have artistic potential and help them feel welcome and not lost among the hundreds of admittedly.....not-so-great drawings and collages. Frankly I don't check the art section anymore, because I "know" I won't find anything worth really looking at, and it is my personal opinion that while anyone CAN draw, there are few who have the talent for it (Just like anyone CAN play a musical instrument, but there are varying levels of talent at that, and some can't even go above some low level). I inevitably miss some gems, and I am KNOW I am not the only one who does this, and thus a talent in the rough may be lacking the encouragement to go on. Some people have it....and some don't. I believe everyone has a talent(s), but I did admittedly get tired of wading through many glorified stick figures and collages with 50px worth of white around the subject's edges.
3) Get more focused. This board is growing too big for its britches. Again, no intentions of hostility, but I think there are a large number of people here who really love feet more than anything else. And love hard vore/crush more than anything else. Love giant guys more than anything else. Etc etc. Last time I checked, this was a GIANTESS board (Even SW/SM since you get the same perspective in the end, IMHO). If it would come to making a new separate page to focus on recruiting artists, etc, then I would be all for it. I think many prospective interested people are kinda chased away by the "mess" that is growing.

Yeah, I might sound like an old curmudgeon, but I am simply speaking my mind. Maybe I feel liberated knowing that I won't be active in GTS art in the future, but I have felt this way for some time.

Thoughts, opinions? I think we can come up with some honest opinions without attacking or hurting other people's feelings. If everyone took off their PC glasses, they could see anything realistically and assess it as such. There. Discuss!!
