Super Marisa Land (doujin game) AR/AP
this is a doujin game japanese made (thought it is english) and is same system as mario but has a picture of your character and the character is a witch girl.
it has 5 Age type little kid (the one you start), kid after get 1 mushroom, teen (break blocks) ,your age (throws fireballs) and adult (same as star i guess) hmm my opinion the adult form is kinda... weird? doesnt look the same person thought. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ok just confirmed that there is no other form but after you finish you play as her rival that AR'ed her At the end you get your revenge AR her so the "extra" part is playing with her as a child and she won't AP also Last edited by Suning; 11-29-2008 at 09:59 AM. |

I agree, but the character sprites look pretty good.
Where did you get this game? |

Re: Super Marisa Land (doujin game) AR/AP
This is apparently a fan-made spinoff of Super Mario World starring Marisa from the well-known Touhou series. Here's a download link.
Having completed the game, I wouldn't recommend playing through all twenty stages just for the ending. It's very disappointing for all the work you have to put into it. The game's very easy except for a few frustrating spots in the later levels, but the gameplay gets repetitive quickly. After the credits, Marisa (as an adult) walks across the screen. For about half a second, you can get a glimpse of a girl standing at the right edge, but Marisa immediately throws a mushroom at her. The girl looks shocked, the screen goes black, and you hear the "shrinking" sound effect. Afterward, you unlock the ability to play as a shrunken Alice, who is exactly the same as Marisa except that growth mushrooms are fatal to her, leaving her stuck at head proportion 2, and she can throw little Marisa dolls at enemies. She doesn't even have her own ending. The AP artwork for Marisa is quite good, but you can spare yourself the effort of playing through the game by looking at the screenshots. Unless you feel like an hour or two of drudgery, don't bother playing this. Last edited by SirK; 11-29-2008 at 06:02 PM. |

So says Sirk. I think it's an interesting way to turn the Mario theme though. It's not every day you AP with the mushroom rather than GTS. Makes me wonder what would happen with a Mega Mushroom.

I thought it was pretty fun, myself. Good waste of a couple of hours...but the patched version keeps crashing on me. :/

I liked it, it's just that it reaches Nintendo Hack hard in the extra stages.
Also the adult version is actually a play on how eight head proportion is superhero/classic hero comic standard. So what do you get when you fuse Jojo's facial features, FoTNS' typical female, and the modern ultrarealistic colors of superheroes? That....thing. You actually fight it as the second form of the clone boss in MegaMari too. |
