Did a search for Giygas on dA and came up with this:

I actually did a bit of research and it is a female version of Giygas. Maybe it's more how he looks in the first or third games? Wish I knew.

Because Mother 2 ends in an abortion.

Earthbound was one fucked-up game, wouldn't you say? The creator has said a number of times it's the most personal thing he's ever done.

Gah-hwha? An abortion? o.O? Either I didn't read into it as deeply, or I missed something... I cant see anything that's indicative or symbolic of an abortion... though I will agree the game gets pretty dark at the end...I wouldn't say it's fucked up.

Anywho, Giygas is certainly one of the last character's I'd expect to see TG/BE'd! I didn't even know it had a body at all! ^_^;
