Lame excuse.
Being new shouldn´t stop you from checking if something has been posted allready.
Besides, thats a Manga, not an Anime.

leave it alone and stop getting so technical about EVERYTHING! It was an innocent mistake, don't let this develop into a flame war yet AGAIN over something that's OVER! Give the guy a break and relax! Anime/manga are intermixed in the minds of the general public who aren't as familiar with it as you are and trying to PROVE you're right about it doesn't make you any better of a person. You just come off as arrogant and a bit of a jerk. So lighten up and leave the guy alone. It's over now. Chill.

It does help to let them know though. The point here is that if someone titles it "anime", then people would think it is animated. If he put manga, then we would know it was a comic. It helps to have the titles titled correct.

I know it's important for that sorts info to be used, but the guy obviously didn't know what he was getting himself into and it just seems like a waste to me to see people flame him for an honest mistake.

I'll say right now that I have been here for several years and the AMOUNT of material on here is insane. So it's kinda hard to expect a new person to come in, view ALL THE INFO here in such detail that they can recall it to their memory instantly, just so they don't post something that was already posted like a year ago and is off on some god-forsaken page that won't find the light of day. It's quite a tall order, so I just wish people here would be a bit more tollorant to these sort of things instead of going off on huge flame wars bashing and insulting noobs to no end. All that's doing is driving away MORE people who might... just might... someday be helpfull here.

I mean, honestly, the guy WAS trying to give us something new. He just happened to show something that was already shown a LONG time ago. Not that big of a deal. He was TRYING!

Then of course once the flames start the techno-geeks start up too. Going into detail and nit-picking word for word what was said to give them that SLIGHT edge in making themselves have just enough information to appear smarter than everyone else. It's so pathetic and futitle. I just don't want this to happen yet again. Who cares really if it's Anime or Manga? It's all the same stuff. That's like trying to debate the difference between the words Animation and Cartoon. (shake it off and ignore that if you feel the urge to "correct" me)

Ugh, enough. Everyone just chill. I don't want another flame war. You wanna debate and flame this noob, flame me instead and send it to my PM or E-mail so it doesn't clog up this great site.

Of course it helps to let them know. It just helps not to make them hate you before doing so.

Admittedly, however, Wolfman Al was much more level-headed than he sometimes has been in the past, and it would appear that the tone of Catty N's response was the unnecessarily strong one, this time around.

When you become focused upon correcting something you believe to be wrong, it can become dangerously easy to turn into the very thing you are set against. It's something that can happen to anyone.

EDIT: This response was being made while Catty N was submitting the post immediately above. As such, it does not take into consideration any of said post's content.

I kinda agree with CattyN, I have seen people blow up and start drama fests over honest mistakes many times.(Though dont get me wrong, Once in while the person might deserve it, such as making requests over and over and over even after being told the rules several times)

Um... Why are we making something big out of this?

Wolfman really was the closest to flaming I suppose. I do understand that it is almost impossible for someone new to be able to know what is posted before. So I posted the link to the original post to say that it is not new material. As for the anime/manga thing, it is best to have titles accurate to the material inside the thread. There is not need to force it though.

I have been trying to be level-headed about some things, but it's like all of a sudden i've been seeing nothing but hate-hate-hate everywhere and it's really really hard not to lash out back at it. I've also seen alot of flames over noob posts, which is really getting out of hand. The simplest solution is just to calmly say "this was done already, sorry" and then get an admin to close the thread, or even better, delete it so that no more hate can spread. It's so easy to pick on the newbies, but we were ALL noobs at one point and I don't think any of us would like being flamed for our first posts for a technical oversight. It's not like he was trying to say "PLZ DRW GRL WIT HOOG BOOBS!," he was actually trying to HELP but just ended up posting something that was done before. That doesn't deserve the kind of flame that starts up.

good eye. Can we close this down or something so it doesn't get out of hand again? It's already starting to.
