Re: the elder scroll 4 oblivion
that is a simple console command, no real mod. now if you search through the be section you will find a oblivion mod topic and i know i posted a mod to use growth and shrink spells.

Re: the elder scroll 4 oblivion
when in game press this Key ~ it will pause the game and you can select a character and type setscale xx xx could be 1.5 1.6 etc now some times it stops at 2. it works on yourself and npcs tho if you want to change your size to greater size a scrip mod can be used to make a giantess race to use, To be honest it works a lot better in fo3.
http://www.process-productions.com/f...ad.php?t=21058 this contains more info and the growth and shrink mods Last edited by Blood-Line; 08-14-2010 at 08:47 PM. |

Re: the elder scroll 4 oblivion
Looks like that was done with a combination of modded race and console commands. They took screenshots, saved, exited out, increased size of race in construction kit, re-loaded the game then continued repeating that. You can't get that big only by using the console.
Console commands (hit ` key to bring up console) Select your character then type: Setscale 1 (normal size) Setscale 0.5 (half size) Setscale 2 (double size) 0.5 and 2 are the limits. This restriction is removed in Fallout 3. With the console and these spells you can either become twice as tall as normal or half the size. If you want to go any bigger you need to download the Oblivion Construction Kit and create a new class (like Giant) and set the initial size to a number larger than 1. If you set it to 2, for example, Your normal size is double-height. You could shrink yourself to half size and interact with the world normally if needed. But if you then enlarge yourself you're quadruple normal size. Here's a quick link to a mod which gives you some size-changing spells. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=21696 There are some mods which will give you a slow growth effect as well, I can't find em at the moment. Personally I use this mod: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=33044 to create a good looking character. Took it into the construction kit, duplicated the race, gave it Nord stats instead of Imperial and changed the default height to just a bit taller than Nord males. Nice amazonian size imho. If you use setscale to make yourself taller than normal you revert to normal-height when talking to NPCs, suddenly being short again gets distracting. By setting your base height to being tall in the first place you avoid that. ...and if you're playing on a console forget everything I said cuz you're out of luck. I just recently reinstalled Oblivion myself and am having fun modding the heck out of it. This is what my current character looks like: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/im...1281682716.jpg HGEC ftw.

Re: the elder scroll 4 oblivion
Was reading the thread Blood-Line posted, never knew you could use the script extender to defeat the setscale 2 limit (but only on NPCs)
Creating a giant duplicate of yourself and using the 'kill' console command is fun! They die in slow-motion and have a real sense of gigantic weight. And sometimes they drop into cool poses.

Re: the elder scroll 4 oblivion
Ah man I need to get back into playing Oblivion. Yeah I would have more fun with this if it weren't for two reasons:
Reason #1: Whenever I'm larger or smaller than 1.00 (in race height) my character ends up growing (or shrinking) even more than attended and it screws up the view. Don't know how or why this happens because I know it used to work fine. If anyone can help me with that little problem though, I would really appreciate it. Reason #2: Can't take screenshots. I imputed the right settings both inside and outside of the game and it won't work. Don't know if its because I'm using Vista or if its because I'm using a laptop. Speaking of Vista, for those of you who use that particular OS I'm sure you already noticed that the console is unusable by the normal method (hitting the ~ key). There is a remedy to that. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13133 Instructions on how to use it are on the page. Quote:
Oh and here's a piece of random information I found out. If you're playing a custom race (which I'm sure some people already do) and set character to be a larger size (which, obviously, you did) and happen to also play the game at the same time (like I do seeing as how I can't take screenshots), there's a certain you can enlarge your character before a very useful kind of spell becomes useless, and by very useful I mean the churches and shrines. After playing around with the Construction Kit and the game, I found that the limit happens to be 1.36. Just thought I'd share that with some of you. Re: the elder scroll 4 oblivion
I simply edited the custom race I was playing to be around 7 feet or so. Small enough to fit into caves and houses, but big enough to make an impact. This was the only way I could actually play as a larger character. Using the 'setscale' function didn't move the camera in any way, so you could be 20 feet tall, but your actual size would remain normal. As in, the normal 'hit box' or 'collision mapping' was still normal. Had to pretty much clip through someone to even get the option to talk to them. Not to mention it was pretty immersion breaking when in 3rd person they reach your hip and then in 1st person they are eye level. :-/
On a brighter note, I think Bethesda fixed this with more recent games like Fallout 3. The 'setscale' function in Fallout 3 alters the camera, collision, movement speed, and damn near everything except jumping. When you jump, you reach a height that a giantess could be expected to reach. But then you sort of hove in the air as you only 'fall' your original size. When you are taller than buildings and you jump, it can be fatal. O_O (I suppose it makes sense in a biological sort of way what with gravity and all. Apparently nothing can reach that size without gravity literally crushing it down to smaller size. SCIENCE!)

Re: the elder scroll 4 oblivion
To go past any limit in oblivion with the console commands (most likely scale for anyone here) you use oblivion script extender:

Re: the elder scroll 4 oblivion
Aha, so that was it.
I was using OBSE and SetscaleEX put couldnt get my player to grow. The camera would shoot way into the sky but the player model would stay their same size near the ground. Saving the game, then loading that save instantly grew the character to the appropriate size. I still ran into a limit of about setscaleex 20 but I dont mind. If you can't take screenshots you need to edit your oblivion.ini and change the screenshot # from 0 to 1. Quote:
