n00b Morphs Incoming!

Figured I'd try my hand at some morphing with GIMP, they're (very obviously) not perfect, but it is still my first try!

Wow, I like it! Though, I have to admit I didn't think there was anything wrong with that pair in the first place...

You did this with GIMP? I'm pretty into photography, and I troll a few other forums (photography-on-the.net) and the pics that those people post...whoah! And they all do some sort of post-processing on their shots in CS3, or in some cases, GIMP. So, I downloaded the thing, and just can't figure out how to do much of anything with it. Are there places online to learn how to use it? I'm really impressed with your picture!

Re: n00b Morphs Incoming!

Hmm... I see yeah looks like a great start.
A few things to make it look more natural is to do this using layers:
1. You could trim the edges of the breasts and after you magnify them, move them together after placing them on separate layers so it looks more like their connections are within a normalized region. Layers makes everything easier... almost... heh.
2. Also possibly the place where the connection by the armpit, mayhaps layering that with samples of the changing darkness that was there before (but making it a bit more narrow) would decrease the ability of one to see the cutout edge.
3. Layers will also allow you to turn one layer transparant, so that you can erase the excess non-breast around the base of the alteration (where the blankets are) but this one I think may be a matter of opinion.

Ditto tetsumi, I would love to learn how to do something like this (or really how to do anything art related on my computer >.<)

Thanks! Though every pair can stand a little improving in the BE forum! Yeah I did it in GIMP, and I know nothing about photo editing so I'm kind of learning as I go. I did figure out after much swearing that jpeg doesn't have transparency, so I had to add an alpha channel to the layers I'm modifying.

1. Yeah, I cut the breasts out of the original into a single layer, it does make much more sense to do them individually!
2. Do you mean duplicating the armpit/shadows into another layer, so i can flatten it down onto the manip?
3. I do see what you mean, this was kind of a I'm-up-at-3-am-and-can't-sleep-and-I-need-something-to-do-so-I-don't-go-crazy kind of thing. I didn't think it would turn out into something remotely presentable so I didn't go crazy with the polish. Opinions are always welcome though!

Tetsumi's art is a damn sight better than what I clicked away at! My advice is to download GIMP and just start trying! Google will be a friend in this venture. Also dedicate a couple hours, you'll do things over and over and over and... well you get the point.

Thank you!

For any morphers out there, any advice as to what makes a photo more morphable?
