I3reacl Stories on DA
I don't usually like the works crafted by the BE writers on DA, save for those that are truly amazing, such as SoylentOrange, but this particular author really seems to have a knack for creating fun and hot BE. His descriptions are detailed and quite enjoyable, though I am fairly certain English might not be his first language owing to some grammatical errors here and there...
Either way, plenty of good stories to look into, particularly if you are among the fanbase for Bleach or Naruto BE. (His most recent 3-part story includes all-too-rare Soi Fon expansion- very nice!) I'd recommend giving it a look. If you're interested...

Re: I3reacl Stories on DA
First of all, I'm amazed and humbled to be singled out like that. ^^;
Secondly, he's got some pretty okay stories in there, though there are a lot of niggling bad words and misspellings and so on that keep pulling me out of the story a bit, but overall I'd give him a solid six, six and a half out of ten. ![]() (I do wish people wouldn't stoop to fanfiction so much, though; it's a crutch, and everyone's guilty of at least a little, but a good artist/writer should seek to escape its clutches as soon as possible...) |

Same goes for drawing. I learned to draw by mimicking various things nad redrawing them freehand until I picked on stuff on my own.
And fanfiction can be done well, but it's hard.

Re: I3reacl Stories on DA
Well, like I said, it's a crutch, something to help beginners out by providing them with already-established relationships, personalities, character designs, and so on. There's nothing wrong with fanart/fanfiction as a *Start*, I was just expressing a hope that he switched off of fanfiction and onto more original works in the future.

Re: I3reacl Stories on DA
Well, some of his work is actually original.
Also, I don't really see the fanfiction thing as a crutch all the time. Take the Bleach one he has up now, for example- I've never seen anyone write a story involving Soi Fon expansion, and was pleased to find a halfway-decent written one. Why not just write it myself? Partially because I don't think I'm very good at writing process stories, and partially because I'm lazy. Even so, it's a treat for us fans who would like to see some well-loved characters a little more fleshed-out, so to speak.

Fanfiction pulls me right out of the story. There is no property that I love so much that I want to read fanfic about it.

Re: I3reacl Stories on DA
I must say I am extremely flattered someone created a thread about me in this forum(I’m I3reacl). Soylent may say I’m just a 6.5, but it makes me feel like a ten
![]() Yes, my first language isn’t English(I’m German), but I’m quite confident the grammar in my stories is pretty good. I often have to use online-dictionaries though, and experiment a lot with words in different contexts. It may lead to confusing sentences sometimes, but overall I think it helps to improve my style. And about the discussion that dominates this topic I can just say: While some of this may be correct in general, for my kind of stories it’s not really important if I make up characters myself or write fanfiction. And for the rest: Don't like it, don't read it :P |

Re: I3reacl Stories on DA
It's not "Just" a 6.5- most DA authors are in the 2-3 range. I'd only call myself an eight and a half at best. ^^;
I had suspicions English wasn't your first language, which forgives a lot of it- after all, Ich verstehe nur ein bisschen Deutshe, so you're doing a heck of a lot better than I would. :P Still, it's worth putting the effort in to try and spell-check whatever you can, for as niggling as the errors may be, they do pull you out of the story. And as to your last paragraph, I would say that if you're equally competent at original stories as you are fanfiction, why stick with fanfiction? Your original stuff was fine, there's no reason for you to be painting inside someone else's lines if you don't need them as a guide... |

Re: I3reacl Stories on DA
In that case I say “Dankesch?n” for rating me so high
![]() ![]() I put much effort into making my stories as flawless as possible, but I used to have the problem that my computer can’t spell-check English because it only got the German version of word. But my new laptop/notepad/padbook/whatever can even correct a sentence’s structure, so there should be less grammar issues in my future stories. I don’t quite understand why you have such a low opinion of fanfiction. Personally, I think it’s fun to write fiction about your favorite Comics, TV shows and so on, to create stories in settings you know and like ![]() |
