Would you throw away your life, to live another?

Well, I'm gonna go ahead and throw out that common question of living your life a different way.

EDIT:hmmm, with seeing the the repetition of answers (really shoulda suspected that ><. Created this like 5 a.m. in the morning so blah) I will set this in a different scenario.

If you were unsuspectingly given the ability to transform into whatever form you desire at the cost of casting away your old life?
In addition to above stated question, if you then allow to have a clone or similar to live your life in your stead, would you accept the latter?

Discuss away!

I'd turn that offer down without a second thought.

Indeed. While being able to turn into what I'd like is tempting, it's not worth it without your friends by your side. I prefer the kind where you can swap back and forth between forms, anyway.

Were it not for her, I'd be hesitant - but I have often fervently wished to turn into Boneflower, the rough-and-tumble free-spirited anthro ermine girl with the dark eyes that flash green in anger, whose blades, with their hand-carved bone hilts, have drunk the blood of dozens of rapists, kidnappers, murderers, and their abettors.
If it were possible for the mental shift to be delayed a short while, all the better - I'd want to explore her body and take pictures of her (and if possible, upload them online) while I still knew how.

Sure, it would be optimal if we could both live together in separate bodies, but I'd be more than willing to make concessions. I don't mind ceasing to exist that much, as long as I know she's alive. It's like in the old German song "Bist du bei mir": "If you're with me, I (can) go with bliss unto death and to my rest."

I've worked hard for what I have, and I've also been given plenty in this life. To throw it away or turn my back on it all would be a selfish and ungrateful waste of this life.

In an RP a friend and I are doing via e-mail, we did something like that. But it also included having exact clones of ourselves (biologically and mentally) replacing us while we were forced to live a new life that was actually thrust upon us.

Personally, I have too many people that would miss me and I'd miss them dearly. If the perfect-doppelganger was an option: MAYBE. If I could also assume a new identity in society AWAY from the family and friends my clone would have from me: possibly.

Tempting. I'm mostly unhappy with my life but... I found someone wonderful to be with that makes me less unhappy. Love conquers all, so they say, and thus if I were not able to remain with her post transformation I would have to say no.

Three years ago I would have said yes. Now I am starting to like my body.

Re: Would you throw away your life, to live another?

The answer for that is purely based out of how you see your life but everyone without exception has to remember that death is the only absolute in life so if changing my existence would allow this cycle to go on then I would be fine with another form that replaces my own. Basically, if I could know that changing forms would increase my time alive then the change would be enough an insentive, friends, family, achievements and everything else will not be there when you pass away.

What do you mean by 'casting away your old life'? That is way too vague.

casting as in give it up your old life to live a new, I felt it was pretty straight to the point seeing how people gave proper responses...
