Wolves

This caught my attention for sure.

"There is werewolf sex in the film. It took three days to film a sex scene where the two actors start off as humans and evolve into werewolves during the lovemaking. By the end, both man and woman are full-on werewolf. Pretty kinky stuff.

- WOLVES is called “crazy, scary and honest” by Momoa, who also indicates that the film gets really crazy at the end... Because werewolf sex in the middle isn’t crazy enough?!"

Re: Wolves

I must point out this: "They’re certainly not scary; they look a little bit like more sophisticated versions of Teen Wolf. I also thought of Beast in X-MEN: THE LAST STAND a little bit."
So, more Teen Wolf -ish thing = full ears-nose-nails. I am not sure if I should laugh, scream or cry.

Anyway, thank you irishane for the news.

Re: Wolves

Yeah, the werewolves will probably look crappy/half-assed

There will be no snouts in this film. Hayter had his Academy Award winning SFX team, the same ones behind the recent The Wolfman remake, go through a hundred different looks for his wolves, ultimately deciding he hated snouts and went with a more flat-faced werewolf, like Teen Wolf or the aforementioned Wolfman.

I've never liked the whole "Wolfman" style werewolf. It always seemed like a cop out for a movie/show with little to no budget. I want to see someone turn into a goddamn WOLF. Not some hairy dude who forgot how to use a pair of nail clippers. Also, whatever process there may be will likely be underwhelming at best.

Re: Wolves

I was just blinded by the words "werewolf sex". I already have low expectations when it comes to these movies. Just figured I'd pass it along

Re: Wolves

Don't worry irish, we have suffered so many deceptions in the past (and in the recent past, of course), and in my case, I haven't even learnt from my mistakes. I am excited about the next release of Freeborn and Bitten, even knowing that the first one will be delayed from september to november and then to the next year. And yes, the female werewolf Sherry will keep her hair long to avoid showing anything "unnecessary".
And what about Bitten? Laura Vandervoort is well known for being a nudity-dodger, so "thanks" to the magic of FX, shadows, lame TF scripts ("lol, no one likes to watch a girl turning into a werewolf, so, who cares?") and items (columns and furniture) placed in the right places, we will be lucky if we enjoy an ankle, or a shoulder, to say.
And I still have some hopes... isnt' that crazy? xD

Yeah, I'm sure like most of you that the werewolves won't be what we think of us as werewolves when we seen them, nor will this sex scene be all that spectacular. Hell, the first Howling movie had werewolf sex, with plenty of nudity, but the 80s were fucking cool like that, we'll never see anything that awesome again. The werewolf sex I wrote in my last story is probably 100 times better than whatever they decide to put on screen in this movie.

Yeah, I was going to say that too... Marsha's sex scene in The Howling was, and still is, the only werewolf sex scene worthy to be watched.
Stirba's one was a pseudo-porn softcore bullshit, and that one from Total Eclipse was as disappointing as the whole movie.
+1 to that, buddy.

Always remember, movies, TV, video games, and even novels are made for Mainstreamers, and they can't be trusted with anything that's not simply defined. If we want good quality, uncompromised, faithful content, it's up to us to make it for ourselves.

Don't waste your time on Mainstream media, because they don't waste their time on us.

That statement sounds true. But I've noticed somewhat intriguing: when they (the "mainstreamers") are promoting their shows, why do they always show a bit of the female TF? Look at the samples:
-Being Human US second season. Erin turns into a werewolf. 30 seconds? less? And this appears in the promo of the main season.
-13 Hrs. Sarah turns into werewolf. The "main" starting is 4 or 5 seconds long. And an image of her, changing, appears on the trailer.
-Howling Reborn. Kathryn turns into werewolf in flashes for less than a few seconds. The whole "flashes" appear on the trailer.
WTF happens here? So, or everyone has some degree of TF fetish that don't admit, or simply the transformations are something that many people, not reaching to the level of "fetish", really appreciate. And they know it, or at least they suspect it.
What do you think?

I've talked of this before, but it has come to my understanding that the female is "perfect" in the ideals of not only men but other women too. Especially if your appeasing to a younger crowd. The idea of "corrupting" or "disrupting" this imagery could, in the producers/director's eyes, garnish negative feedback and/or disinterest in the "dramatic effect" of a female presence.

Look at transformers for God's sake.

I think this is a combination of two factors:

First, just as body types for women are strictly regulated in culture, so too are roles. Women rarely have a chance to be anything outside of maiden, mother, or matron; and even then maiden is the only one that really fits into most heroic stories. Monster doesn't fit maiden, and only kind of fits matron (which would be why evil queens and witches have a habit of turning into dragons)

Second, going against type is a selling point. It's something new and special and fancy. Having your maiden be a monster is exciting. But the reason that type exists is because that's popular. That's what people want to see. So you advertise something new while delivering what the audience already expects.
