Furaffinity whats the deal?

Furaffinity whats the deal?

Furaffinity has been attacked and registration is offline and now the people off the site are being accused of stealing money.

Does anybody know what the full story behind this is.

Well the site is still up. I know they got that DDoS thing a little while ago, I have no idea what the rest of this stuff you're talking about is though.

The site might be in some sort offline mode, so what you're seeing is possible to it being cached on your pc or some such. It was impossible for me to get my password back through the recovery system for days now, so that must be fucked.
Everytime it would mention something about retrying for a cached version (error 524?)
In any case I could login back in because I remembered my password again but geez I couldve been locked out forever.

It's definitely not some offline mode that was cached to my PC. It's still being regularly updated with new content. The site is fully online from what I can tell. Maybe there was some bug with the password recovery, but being able to login at all is a pretty clear indication that the site is not offline.

Like TF-Viewer said, the site appears to be fine (new content is being updated, notes can be sent, ect).

Who's making these accusations, exactly?

Considering that the site was under attack and has been attacked in the past, are you sure the people making the accusations are being truthful and not just trying to start drama?

Oh, yeah. I remember seeing those comments. That's from sometime ago. And without proof, such comments are just baseless speculation...and I wouldn't put much stock in baseless speculation.

If they have proof, that's a different matter. But I doubt that they do...

Fact of the matter is, when you donate to something like that, you can never know if the money will be used as intended, or if it will be abused. You just have to have faith that the money will be used correctly, or don't donate at all.

Simple as that.

Re: Furaffinity whats the deal?

Basically, since it is a furry site, the majority of the internet automatically hates them and script kiddies get a new toy that lets them DDoS....so they use it.

It's an undue hatred towards them, really. I'm not all that into furry but I'd never condemn someone for it. But still, the internet is the internet and if you do not conform to what they deem as "normal" you become a giant ass target.
