Hm, it's like an accelerated version of how those things are supposed to mature, from little tadpole parasites that take over and metamorphize a host.
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines sequel is supposed to come out 2020 too. |

Not just "a 20-year-old RPG" but one of the best videogames of all time.
 It's an interesting sequence, apparently the speed at which it happens is tied with the plot and part of the threat/mystery of this particular illithid invasion. Colour me intrigued.
