No, they're different compression formats. RAR files need WinRAR (which can also open ZIPs), while WinZIP only opens ZIPs. The built-in ZIP file handler in Windows XP won't open RARs.

that reminds me, when I get my new pc I'll have to find the old winrar installer, I heard they changed the current one so actual stuff is disabled when you go over the trial instead of the "you have gone over the trial period..." message we all have atm
