The rival doesn't need to have a serious background? I mean, maybe it's just a silly reason and she decides to make Subi and enemy of hers?

You could always do the old - Subi's enemy is her mirror image type thing. Not in any type of literal evil twin way but just in appearance and demeanour.
She'd be tall, black haired, precise, kind of bitchy. Oh, there's a good reason for her to be an enemy of Subi - she was going to get taught by the martial arts master but then he found Subi and taught her instead. A good reason to resent her. |

(more random ideas.)
Maybe the rival was a higher ranking student and better martial artist than Subi, however, Subi always recieved more attention from the master because of her potential. The master could have sent the rival to watch over her and report. (Kind of like that movie "Beverly Hills Ninja" with Chris Farley and that guy that played as Liu Kang in "Mortal Combat".) The rival was a little annoyed and reluctant of the master's request, but still remained loyal. The rival, perhaps, was always annoyed by Subi's clumsiness and ability to somehow miraculously succeed in the masters tests. (Not to mention, a little jealous of Subi's full figure.) I'm imagining the rival's personality to be something like Mihoshi's partner, Kyone, in the Tenchi series. A bit of a workaholic, a little bit of a bitch, but not a bad person. Perhaps the rival is supposed to bring Subi back if Subi can't handle herself in her new home. The rival wants to get this ordeal over with as soon as possible. In order for that to happen, Subi must go back home. The rival may seem to enjoy the city life, like Subi. So the rival "occasionally" tries to persuade, the way a martial artist would, for Subi to go back home. Subi's gang might get in the way every once in a while. Maybe Subi admires this rival a bit and has always wanted to win a challenge, without having a miraculous clumsy victory. That has still yet to happen... In the mean time, the master is playing videogames back in the mountains... (just joking heh heh) (I dunno, I'm just blurting whatever comes out of my head...) You know the drill, pick what you like and ditch what you don't like. ROCK ON!! Last edited by Memo Pad; 02-02-2006 at 10:56 AM. |

Yes, Memo Pad, that is pretty much what I was thinking of.
Their master paid special attention to Subi because he could see a great power in her. Just throwing more ideas out. Perhapse the rival will create her own gang? Also perhapse she seeks out her own power to rival Subi's own biokinesis? I will try to sketch down Subi's rival (not to speak find a name) and their master (most likely old school kung-fu theatre style). |

Instead of forming her own gang, maybe the rival joined a rival group, which allows her to keep an eye on Subi, while venting her frustration on the gang's members.

Well here is some sketches of some characters that I probably will use. First we have Midori, Subi's rival and former training partner. And then we have the leader to the gang in which Subi joins.
These are just ideas, so they are really not final. ^_^ |

I like both sketches a lot. :-D
Midori definitely comes across as evil; the "Kill" on her T-shirt goes a long way toward that. I like her dynamic pose, as though she is preparing to attack somebody. Although this may come across as an odd complaint, her breasts are a bit on the large side (playing for the "opposite of Subi-chan", she might best be flat-chested) Now the leader... now that guy makes me think of GTO! Brawny, good-looking, and seemingly indifferent, with many a battle scar. I love the expressoin on his face, and his pose. Very good!

Whoa nice sketches Subi. The leader reminds me of Kuwabara from Yu Yu Hakusho in terms of the hair, with abit of hardcore added to him. Midori looks wicked.
God its good to be back...I nearly went insane being without this great site for over a week |

The rival forming her own group makes a lot of sense.
She's probably grudingly aware that Subi has beaten her a couple of times, so she wants backup - and she'll probably know Subi has her own friends, so it makes sense she'd want to have her own group, level the playing field. Also - I suppose, if this is to run for any length of time Subi and her rival should eventually get it together and become friends to fight some greater evil. |

I get the impression that Subi is probably somewhat oblivious as to any animosity that Midori might have for her - so she'll always be more "let's be friends" and maybe a bit hurt if Midori is mean to her.

I have a dual TF suggestion that will sound very cliche.
A woman takes bovine hormones to increase her bust size. It works of course but also makes her lactate. Later on, she begins to show signs of bovineism (made up word) from the hormones: including grass eating, the ever popular mooing, and the growth of horns and cow ears and tail. The comic should finish with her fully turning into a cow and possibly liking it. |
