Go Buy She-Hulk #29

I got my greasy mitts on it yesterday and even if you've hated every single by PAD, you may well enjoy this one...

The reason I mention it here, there's an FMG in there. Ok, I'll level with you... it's not a Manic style clothes bursting superheroine extravaganza, it's a before and after with just her eyes shown transitioning... but she gets big and green and savage... which I know a lot of people miss. Those who prefer Jen to look... hulking, will not be disappointed and those who like to see women bustin' out of their clothes - won't be disappointed.

All in all, it's a great issue - nice story. Jen really shines and of course, we finally find out how she got disbarred... Also, THE PLOT THICKENS.

Go get it.

I've heard about this, maybe it's around at the local Borders stashed somewhere . . .

I think that David's story so far, while decent, has been too much of a slow burn. It's about time he got to the point, and if what I'm reading about the issue is true, he finally is. Can't wait to see what happens, then.

Yeah... I think that's what has put some people off. Well, beyond the complete change in tone and the sudden disconnect with Dan's stint... but then, as PAD said - he had to strike off in his own direction otherwise it would seem like he was just doing Slott style but not as well.

I think we can assume that with the Secret Invasion tie-in with X-factor just around the corner, that the pace is going to be maintained... And PAD has said that he's got the book planned up to #39, so I guess we have to see how it goes.

I may not know anything at all about She Hulk, but...

Female Muscle Growth? In She-Hulk? Why.. that's preposterous! They would never put such a thing there!

Re: Go Buy She-Hulk #29

They haven't released Trade #7 but I'm not really sure I am going to pick it up. Slott's run was excellent in that it started in a self-contained manner. But then all the Marvel Universe stuff started to interfere with his stories and that's when I lost interest. That he had to wrap everything up in his 6th set of stories just made me want to stop buying She-Hulk.

Now Punisher:MAX is a series I can get behind because it's self-contained from the Marvel Universe.

Re: Go Buy She-Hulk #29

Personally, I think that Slott's "World Without A Hulk" issues were some of his strongest... and while it tied into the WWH thing etc. I don't think you really needed a greater reading of the MU to get it... although, I can relate to your frustration with the feeling of missing something... currently, PAD's run has avoided that but it's going to do Secret Invasion.

Of course, given that sales seem to trend upward with crossovers... hard to see them going off the idea... and She-Hulk NEEDS sales.

World Without A Hulk also had the shittiest art. The guy they had on the first trade was awesome.
