To say the least I feel sad watching this kinda thing.

I would encourge people to check out the first video in this woman's journal. She goes by the name of Robin and she did the videos as a journal for those that were interested in the surgery. In her first video she goes into detail about getting the surgery on the fact that she was tested positive for BRCA1 which basically means breast cancer type 1 susceptibility protein causing her to be very likely to develop breast cancer later on in her life.

She goes onto to say in her first video that her mother had breast cancer, and sadly died after a long painful battle in January of 2010. With that in mind she decided to go with a new surgery that was avalible to have all of her breast tissue to be removed and replaced with expanders or basically inflatable implants as thus with no breast tissue no cancer could develop. First off personally, I think Robin is doing a brave thing.

For a woman to allow her breast tissue to be removed and to try a new surgery is brave. Her story about her mother was sad, and I felt for her as watching a loved one die from cancer is a hard and painful thing to witness. I applauded her for this as it's not easy to allow yourself to be videoed exposed, but she is doing it for a good cause and she deserves a large amount of credit.

I agree, it's just sad when you actually hear and learn of the experiences of suffering from others.

I don't know if I'd be necessarily sad, I was more "good for you" for sticking through it and good for the doctors who are able to make her feel like she did before cancer again.

Always interesting seeing a real breast expansion process. Not as sexy or arousing as an art sequence is it?

On a more serious tone, very courageous for her to change to honor her mom in spite of their estranged relationship. And it seems to make logical sense to get rid of breasts that may go cancerous in the future and replace them with expandable ones.
