FFVII Remake Confirmed. Transform Materia Fans Anyone?
E3 trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kznek1uNVsg
So this is kinda cool the game is actually official. Edit: Thread kinda beelined into preferece of remake focus versus any TF discussion, so I feel a bit silly linking the fetish content, lol. Removed links, carry on with discussion. Last edited by Dark Horseman; 06-16-2015 at 12:38 PM. |

all I'll say, with the reaction they got last night at the press conference, and if Square does it right in remaking the game and not mucking it up, they will be literally drowning in money.

Re: FFVII Remake Confirmed. Transform Materia Fans Anyone?
Seeing the trailer I got two reactions:
My first reaction: "Shut up and take my money! I want this game now!" My second reaction: "Play it first on Playstation 4? WTF! Give me A PC Game. I donīt want to wait release + 5 years to get a console for a single game again." The second reaction requires a little explanation: XBox for Fable (later for Bardīs Tale as well) PS1 for FFIX (followed by Chrono Cross) PS2 for FFX (followed by FFXII and FFX-2[I regret that one]) For the PC I got (minus duplicates) well over 400 working games (about 100 on CD and DVD). If we include duplicates, HD Versions and Remakes the number swells to about 600 (with roughly 200 on CD and DVD). Include Games that no longer work on a 64Bit Machine or any other reason (and canīt be fixed to work except for buying a GoG or Steam Version) and the number climbs well over 1000. Not included in any of the above numbers are Games from Magazines, DLCīs, Addons, Skinpackages and so on unless it caused me to buy a duplicate of the original game (Magazine Games arenīt counted at all or the number would be closer to 2000). Iīm also only talking about real games, not stuff like FreeGames or Browser Games. (Example: FnaF would count (donīt have it) but Angry Birds (have it) wouldnīt) 2 examples for duplicates: Example 1: Gothic II: Got the CD Solo, A Replacement after the first stoped working due to a scratch, Got 1 with the DLC, 1 (with DLC) when I got the third part and finaly 1 with a Steam Bundle making it 1 Game and 4 duplicates. Example 2: Fable: Xbox Version (not counted du to beeing a console version), DVD, Steam and Steam HD making it 1 Game 1 Duplicate and 1 HD Version (+1 Console). My point: Iīm only playing games on a console if no other option is avaivable. Sure, you might lose a CD/DVD or the game wontīt work with your OS anymore but thanks to Steam thatīs a problem of the past as well. |

I just worry the remake will be done with the "on rails" mentality and the steam punk look will be lost by attempts to make it look "cool". So much needs to be recreated and not replaced, like the battle system, exploration aspects, and optional quests and content.

I only have two thoughts about this-
1) A modern portrayal of Cloud that actually adheres to how he was written in the original version of the game (none of that emo-Cloud from everything after it) 2) MODERN. HARDWARE. FASCINATION. GIRLS. |

Re: FFVII Remake Confirmed. Transform Materia Fans Anyone?
I really don't what this to be like the last FF games, an on rails experience with all the back story shunted to supplemental text. The problem is of course companies seem to think what appealed to past gamers won't appeal to current gen gamers, retro style games don't just appeal to people on a nostalgia level, the current generation actually LIKES fun games that fall somewhere between "all story" and "no story"
