ya, Valor... I dont think ive seen a single person with that breastplate of kings yet oddly enough. Most people go weaponsmithing for the incredible damage weapons, and dont bother with armorsmithing at all.

Me either, Ive never taken blacksmithing on any char to date...but from what Ive heard armorsmithing requires the most hard to get mats and time than the other 2, well at least per piece that can be made...once you get up that high.

Yes, armorsmithing is a pain in the butt, which is why I'm doing it.
![]() The requirements for the Breastplate are obscene...but I like doing things people don't normally do. ![]() |

Paladin heals are not slow, and they are not weak. The holy talent tree for Paladins has points to increase the healing output, and decrease the casting time of Holy Light, the Paladins big heal. After a successful casting of Holy Light, the next cast made within 15 seconds will be shortened by .5 seconds. Meaning, that when you have to spam Holy Light, it lets you do so more quickly than when the castings are spaced further apart. 35% of the Paladin's total intellect stat is converted into bonus healing power, add that on top of any healing bonus from gear and you have some massive bonuses later in the game. When another party member heals a Paladin they receive 8% of the healing effect as mana recovery. On critical heals the paladin gets a 60% (nerfed down from 100%) mana refund on their heals. Paladins are great healers, as long as they know what they are doing and have geared themselves with those things in mind. If your Paladin failed to live up to your expectations.. maybe it's not the game's fault or Blizzards for that matter. It may just be you. |

Sadly im an armorsmith... but on my shaman
![]() Paladin is my main, and it can do everything well, just prot and ret require FAR better gear to do as well as other classes, healing gear requires less effort. Trying to turn my pally into a ret spec, slowly been collecting damage gear, its fun! And as a side note, BE look horrible enlarged by grow effects to me, Simply too skinny, anorexic even. |

I never played, but my brother tells me that being one of the only high-ranking armorsmiths on his server paid off when everyone brought him the materials and paid him obscene amounts for whatever they wanted.

I have a level 63 protection palladin. Thats number one on the list. Number 2 is: Paladins are the best SINGLE TARGET healers in the game. They can get higher heals than any other class in a single cast, howerver they cannot heal an entire group as efficiently as say a priest or a resto druid. Number3: a Protection palladin can take out any class that MELEES (hunters included but they are the toughest) and get taken out by pretty much all casters (minus fire mages and shadow priests, they are just really tough). The only way to effectivley beat a paladin as a warrior would be to keep him bleeding. To beat one as a shaman spam purge on him and keep out a grounding totem. I am probably one of the few pallies i have ever seen that uses Blessing of Freedom intelligantly as well, i hotkey it and use it whenever i am snared. The only thing i cant break with that is a hunters Freeze trap (freakin hate that thing!) but with todays new patch the PvP trinkets will break that. When it comes to healing, however, a holy paladin is the most mana effient healer in the game. Even on my prot pally i can outheal holy priests using Flash of Light. Their Flash heal costs 340 mana and heals about 1000 with some nice +healing gear. I have about +219 healing/spell damage (spell damage = threat) and my Flash of Light costs 120 (might be 140) mana, and heals about 600...Throw Blessing of Light, and now it heals about 800. Thats only 200 less damage healed, and less than HALF the mana of the priests.

Level 52 Holy Pally, let me back up Keile.
After this last patch, when we crit a healing spell (28% of the time, 33% with a Moonkin in the party) we get 60% of our mana back. Our mana bar is much smaller than a Priests so we can use the best Mana potion avalable to us and it gives us the whole thing back. Most groups on Burning Blade would rather have a Resto Shaman, Holy Pally or a Resto Druid in that order. Very few people acutally look for a priest because there all Shadow speced on our server. A Prot Pally at his level, fully speced for Def and below 30% of his health would litterly stop takeing damage from melee because his def is so high. A side note: Theres a trick with Blessing of Freedom. Put it on as your charging the hunter, when the freezing trap goes off you won't get stuck in it because your freedom is already on. When fighting hunters, assume the trap is somewhere close. |

Once i hit 35% of my hp, my Ardent Defender kicks in. Right now i have 9.7k armor with my Devotion aura (about 8.6k without) and that is ROUGHLY a 65% damage reduction (melee only of course there). Now when Ardent Defender kicks in, i take another 35% less ontop of that, but this works for ALL damage, melee and magical alike.
And Zin, BoF doesnt stop the Freeze Trap only the FROST trap. Freeze is the one that completely encases you in ice, i have had it used on me while i had BoF on. In fact, i was watching it swirling around me while i was in the ice...looked kinda cool like that actually.... Anyway, Zin, what server/side are you? Shadowmoon horde here.
