Wow.. I almost forgot about that comic.. transgenderized clones.. animal transformations... Ah I see.. she hit herself with her irradiated hands... Man. shoulda seen that coming. (if I remember right she can turn anyone female, and another hit just stacks on female traits.. or something..)

For almost forgetting it you pegged it all correctly. =3

Dan hasn't done many in-comic transformations in a while, mainly due to moving the plot along.

Re: El Goonish Shive BE

I used to be a fan but then it started getting....well, to be frank....whiny. Everyone's gay in some way and....then the plots never seem to have much sense or well....point. I dunno, it gave me a headache after awhile.

Still, lovely bit of BE and hair growth and clothing TF.

Yeah, but he said that he's going to get back to the original funness of the comic with the new style he's trying.

Incidentally, I think the reason she's so shocked (since another blast would turn her back) is that she's not supposed to be that busty in her V5 form, so her powers might be getting funky.

Re: El Goonish Shive BE

I used to read El Goonish Shive as well. I can't remember exactly why I stopped, but I think it was related to why Vengeance1701 did (I recall it was around halfway through the "birthday party" arc?). It just wasn't fun anymore! It started out as a weird little comic about two dudes and some mad science, and turned into an Epic Comic? about an anthropomorphic squirrel!

I will chime in to say that I love Goonish. Its lost some funny maybe. But the characters are so well written that I don't care a bit. I likes me some deep strong characters and Dan delivers.. with a side of sexy fun.

The anthromorphic squirrel was fun too... it's just not even about it anymore. It's about exceedingly convoluted interdimensional plots. There has to be a 'reaaaason' and a 'purpose' behind things happening. Sure, I see why he went that way, but yeah, the story isn't good enough to stand on its own without the comedy or the amusing tfs, so naturally the audience dwindled when its update rate vanished.

Re: El Goonish Shive BE

I think the story was fine even with it's epicness and tying everything towards a greater story. Hell, the old (and sadly, completely dissapeared from the internet) clanbob comic started out as a bunch of one shots and in jokes, to an epic plot that involved absolutely everything from the funny little things at the beginning.

The problem with el goonish shive is that he's gone too big too fast.

He knows what he's doing and all that, but the audience doesn't and he's not really giving any hints. The shadow dude during the party for example. Really, we know who he is but not really why it has to be elliot and a bunch of little things like that. He generally doesn't do dramatic irony well, and that's serving to be a big problem the larger the story gets.

That being said, I read it regularly still.
