I still don't see what the problem is with letting kids watch violent movies. I watched Alien in kindergarten and look how well I turned out.

Yes exactly. My nephew watches some movies that are way more intense than I initially thought he'd be ready for, but after I saw TDK I knew my sis had made a good decision. Nightmares during childhood really suck. I know cuz my Dad let me watch a lot of scary movies that I wasn't ready for, but now I can't get e'nuff of them so it's all good after all.

If you were to take the dark tone out of Batman, then you'd have the Adam West-campy Batman of the 60's. I saw in a documentary that the T.V. series actually hurt the sales of the comic book when they tried to make it as campy as the show. Batman was on the verge of being killed off around that time, too.
