lulz indeed!

How do Habba Babba get formed?

I semi-kidding when I see that everyone who eats or works at McDonalds is stupid, especially since I am an occasional customer. I was just saying that eating food that you know is bad for you is pretty stupid, and they still mess up my order almost everytime I go. The always short me on something. Oh, well.

yes mcdonalds is crappy work yet, when your a a student the 50% off food and flexible hours are good

conform no not conform just act sensible. there is a diff , we are not talking about bar codes, chains and anklet bracelets. O wait those are saved for others who can't be productive in society and do what ever they feel like.

Like the other night these kids walk in and silly string the front lobby and harassed a customer you telling me we should just let them be and let them do what ever they want.

with out some order all you have is chaos

While I agree that doing stuff like this is stupid, and potentially wastes time and annoys the staff/other customers, the fact remains that these guys dropped it and left when the store asked them to. So I still don't think they should've been arrested.

I'm glad to say I never worked in fast food. I've had every other crappy job in existence but not fast food. However, I imagine if I did work in a drive-thru I'd appreciate someone providing me with the comic relief rapping one's order would have.

I think its good that they were arrested. They were acting like morons and wasting peoples time. We have here in Germany a law that prohibits "Groben Unfug" (which translates to "crude Nonsense") in public. It basically means if you annoy or irritate people in public or disturb public peace and order by acting consciously, intentional and deliberatly, while beeing not under the influence of alcohole or drugs (this part is important), like a jackass, you can get cashed. You dont have to go to jail, but you have to pay a massive fee (up to a few thousand Euros). It is kind of the RL-counterpart of a temp-ban for trolling. The only problem is that it is quite hard to define what "Crude Nonsense" is, since everybody has a different tolerance level to bullshit.

OHMY! Germany? Still? Oh, well. I think the fact that "crude nonsense" is a little hard to define is extremely bad, but clearly the US laws of disturbing the peace can sometimes be a little hard to define too.

I'm for a middle road here. You have to allow some playfulness as it would be against freedom of speech. At what point does it go over the line? The typical example is "yelling FIRE in a crowded theater" (when there is no fire). Obviously, that can cause panic and people to hurt themselves, unnecessarily. At what point does pranking people become disturbing the peace or harassment? It's a little tough do define, but I think you have to allow a lot of leeway here! Think of the youtube videos! Please won't someone think of the youtube videos?

Ummm, they were just using the first amendment aka the freedom of speech. Nothing wrong there whatsoever, they should be allowed to say, rap, or yell whatever they so choose as long as it isn't infringing on anybody else's rights.

We need to set the bar and keep it at that lvl
Just because you can do something dose not mean you should, people get off way to easy in all cases these days.
Well we do have a bar set by our very own judicial system and congress. They keep order but allow us to be able to express ourselves. Things are good where they are and we should keep it this way not the 'dictatorship' your proposing. (That's how I'm interpreting your message )

Its your choice to work at Mc.Donalds, not the customer or staff and you can leave whenever you want (especially if it's wasting your time). Now if a customer gets pissed off and takes it out on you, they can do so because of their rights according to the first amendment Furthermore if they were protesting Mc.Donalds they would be protected by the Pruneyard Doctrine (If I am right Mc.Donalds is classified as private property ) So they had every right to be their rapping their hearts out because 1.They were not inciting against the government and 2. They were protected by the constitution.

We have laws and customs determined by the United States Constitution that deems certain speech and acts insufferable or otherwise extreme for the norm of society. You can go into Mc.Donalds wearing whatever you want so long as it covers your genitals (and chest for females ) according to your freedom of speech. As long as the don't damage any government or private property they are within their rights to do whatever they want in the vicinity (and they need be permitted by the owner of private property to have access to the precinct). If they infringe on yours or your employers rights or damage property, they will be tried by a court of law and prosecuted to the extent of yours, your employer, or the governments choosing.

Sir you are both wrong and/or misinterpret how things work in our nation. Please gain some knowledge before you start spitting garbage out for the rest of us to clean.

This situation isn't even close to similar to that though.
Actually, as a customer service representative, I find it rather harassing when people do similar things to me. How are we sure if this is not a repeat offense? That, and my job's security department tends to escort people off our preeminence if they're acting idiotic in such a matter.

Really, until you work bloody customer service and see how idiotic people can act, I think it's hard to actually judge things like this. If you told me this two years ago I would've been "wtf, why? That's stupid.", and now I'm sitting here cheering them on that they'll at least get fines for doing crap like this.

I mean, especially at McDonalds. They don't pay them enough to deal with jackasses that play around in their drive-thru taking away time from real potential customers.

Also, tjlemke, I'm not sure how much you know about the law...but I know they arrest people who who start seriously flipping out at the restaurant/store/whatever they're at. ((In fact, one of my douchy customers got arrested for doing it to me, so I pressed charges and had to go to court about it, lawls)). From what I was taught in school, Freedom of Speech doesn't give you the write to spur off whatever you like, but more or less protects you for being able to express your beliefs.

Seriously, rapping about McDonalds to the representative is not protection under freedom of speech. They got arrested for disorderly conduct as they're harassing the employees. And not only that, McDonalds asked them to order properly, they did it again, as well were cursing. This has nothing to do with the freedom of speech. This has to deal with plain teen ignorance that they can't get in trouble for pulling stunts like this.

In my mind at least...
Cursing = Threatening = Harassment. Bottom line.

((Though you're seriously making me doubt you're an adult...and if you are that you never worked a job before if your blissfully unaware that the first amendment doesn't protect you from doing stuff like this.

...or at least the whole "they choose to work there! They can leave if they want!" line. No offense meant, but dang that's surprising to me. ))

Considering McDonald's own ad campaign and slogan right now, I don't think they're in much a position to be offended...
