I agree. It should be single payer. But don't the poor get subsidies? Oh, well.

Is this how it works, or how Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh tell it?

You will receive money to pay for insurance, all us poor folks have to do now is choose which corporate fat cat we want to give our subsidies to.

By extension, so is the economy of the rest of the world. God help us if any foreign nation we owe lots of money to (that is, nearly all of them) ever tries to collect... Hey, don't go around saying shit like this, man, you'll make people nervous.

My main issue with this health care act is the health insurance mandate. Because, you know, I don't have enough financial liabilities every month; what I really needed was one more bill to have to pay.
Lulz this sounds more like it XD

Sounds like the Glenn Beck version to me.

Is there an informed American here who can tell me whether, under health care reform, services will be paid for up front and subsidised later for those with incomes deemed low? Or will that be dealt with ahead of time, ensuring when people visit the doctor or hospital, they don't need to fuss about potential bills?

I love public health care. I love recieving it. I love working for it. I'm even happy to pay taxes for it. It helps care for the rest of the country and is a whole lot cheaper for me than having to pay up-front for the services I require. I don't imagine my family ever would have recovered financially from the dent all those years of treatment and medicine and aparatuses to manage my respiration as a baby would have costed. I don't think any family should have to go through having a sick baby/child, but I dislike the idea of them being expected to pay for it even more.

Of course you like it. You work in a nice monopoly free from the hassles of having to prove its worth and compete in the field granting you a nice inflated salary at the expense of the tax payer.

As for this bill, it's the same story. The AMA wins, the rest of you will lose big time.

If anyone doesn't think so, riddle me this. Once upon a time, government had no involvement in healthcare at all. They were called in to take some control over it when some said it had problems. Like usual, it was only small things at first. Today, government has more control over healthcare than it ever has in history and spends more money on it than it ever has in history.

So I ask you this. In light of these facts: WHY IS THERE STILL A HEALTHCARE CRISIS?

Seriously, if more regulating and spending is the solution, shouldn't the problems with healthcare be solved by now or at the very list, be very minor? The more you look at it, it looks less like progress and more like a drug addict who keeps saying to himself that the next hit is going to be the one that makes everything better...and to the surprise of nobody but himself, it never is.

Because we live in a country that focuses on medicine...

Not the cure...

Not preventing it from happening in the first place....

There is no money in the cure, the money is in the medicine. They don't want to fix us, they want to just give us what we need to get by. To get us to the next stop, so they can get more of our money.

It's funny how you brought up drug addicts because that's what our government is, just a bunch of drug dealers pushing their legal shit!

Actually check out which countries have come out with the most medical advances these days. America has the rest of us beaten by a very wide margin though more socialism in healthcare is going to hurt this a lot.
