Re: Melon Stand Down?

I don't even think people really paid attention to the Melon Stand outside woot back then, so we'd need more than a VH1 special and some money on the side to get this reunion going.

The 'new' Melon Stand will include various upgrades such as longer archives (art will not be erased after a few pages), accounts (with an account, an artist's list of posted artwork/threads will be convenient to view and find), and more built in art programs to use (you will still have the option to upload art).

Until the new oekaki board is created, feel free to continue using this board.
Quoted from my post on the Melon Stand oekaki.

EDIT: There's someone asking for people to email him with pictures from the melon stand. I am not sure who he is and seeing how there's an archive already... I cannot trust him yet. I suggest nobody email him until/if things are cleared up.

Woop, that was me, sorry if that seemed shady. Just personally looking for the older Melon Stand stuff and I figured the best place to ask would be on the Stand itself. The existing archive is severely lacking and only seems to contain the images that are readily available anyway. Was planning to compile them and post them once I got a few so they could be added to the new site whenever it launched.

The Melon Stand is still going to be an oekaki board. Unless the artists repost their past works themselves, archived works cannot be added.
But yes, the archive posted above only goes back so very far. Woot is covered with his own archive gallery.

Yeah, I figured for all those who didn't have their own galleries or some of the one-offs they should try to get in contact so we can preserve their work somehow. Sucks that these images are just getting thrown out with the server's garbage collection routines. If there isn't a spot for the archives on the new oekaki then I don't have a problem setting up a new one or directing them to someone else's archive project.
