Re: Pulse
I do have a question, though. I heard you stopped your previous comics and did your best to erase them from existence (by that I mean closing down your website.) because you were going into professional drawing...ing. Does this mean that you have given up or that it didn't work out? As much as I'd love to see you return to the world of BE comics, I'd much rather you be successful at what you love to do.

I do have all of the content, and if I want to put it back up, I can. It's not that it's scrubbed from existence though. I know that there are (usually incomplete) copies around. There is a picture of Xom in my scraps on DA, and I wrote (incomplete) wiki pages for each comic (probably during 2009) on the Ftf10 wiki. I did have small offers before to do comics, but because I did adult (but not pornographic comics), the offers were usually to do pornographic comics. I didn't want to do that. I thought that it might be better to be making the kind of comics that you would want to do. That if you do a comic with topless women, that people might incorrectly assume that you would be willing to do pornography. My reason for closing the site was not at all related to any job offer. But, I do have a job doing a small press comic now. I've been working on it for about a year. I don't write it, but I draw, color and letter the comic. I'm on page 48 now. It's ideally going to be a series of graphic novels, so considering time and budget it's probably going to take me a few years just for the first book. I haven't really mentioned it anywhere yet. |

Coming out of lurk-mode myself to say I loved your comics Lightfoot. PeEVEed and Missing Materia were good stuff.

Re: Pulse
Very interesting... this new one seems to be a bit more entertaining than the old one somehow.
From my experience, I find that webcomics generally have more material if they kind of edge around the central plot, and create a group of "plot bubbles", each having its own adventure within it so that a reader can come to a conclusion at a point in time, and feel like they're getting more than one large adventure. One of the successful comics I can think of right now that follows this model is OnePiece. Instead of just rounding up a crew with a few encounters and romping off away to encounter the perils in front of the "One Piece" in one builk adventure. The story takes time to turn each individual recruitment and side story into a new adventure. (Like Nami saves her village from the Arlong Pirates occupation, and Usopp saves his village from an invasion.) Of which, the characters learn something, or develop new skills that will help them later on as the main plot starts to thicken. It even could be something just to take the tension off after a particularly intense event. Meh, I could rabble on a lot about story creation. >.< I cut this short here cause I just want it to be a suggestion, not some guide to creation. PS: the most recent page (59 for those who might read from the World of the Future!) It sounds like he's asking them to strip. Not that I mind, but it might not be the intended projection. Re: Pulse
Ooooh, ok! I had always heard you left because of you trying to do professional stuff. That's pretty interesting, and I can see why you'd take all your stuff down. That makes perfect sense, and I hope that in the end it works out for you. There's been quite a bit of misinformation on the net then, for some time, lol. You should find people and inform them otherwise :P
It's good to know that you followed your passion instead of just going with the money. I can't draw to save my life, but I like to write. I've always thought I could write some interesting "porn" love stories, but I'm not a big fan of those, lol. I do write BE stuff every now and then, but no one reads it. I have to admit I can't say that if the offer were put on the table for me to write dirty things for money that I would turn it down :P The fact that you stayed true to yourself earns you some respect points from me! You can use those points to reach level 2. |

Re: Pulse
I wish there's an archive somewhere I could still read your old stuff, like PeEVEed. That was my favorite of all your comics. I was always sad it got cut off in mid-storyline.

Re: Pulse
Cilansis:
It's not complete. MM is missing pages, PeEVEed is missing the first and last chapters. Most are very lowly rated, I assume because they aren't porn. secret50k: I'll have to go back and look at them, but by plans I think it was mostly just what I had said about the series in various forums. The next chapter was going to either introduce Xom's sister who was flirtatious with the doctor, or start a set of chapters that would explain how she had gotten to that point. It's probably too vague to post. Bareon: I'm glad you like the new version. Both because I'm not cycling from one comic to another and because it's not adult, I feel sort of free to do what ever I want. With cycling between series I always felt like I had to keep the story moving rapidly, sometimes skipping non-critical things. And obvious about it not being adult, I don't always have to consider "is this sexy"? I've been trying to create different story goals, some that are resolved on the same page, some that are resolved during a few pages, some that are introduced at the beginning of a chapter and then resolved at the end of a chapter, some that are introduced but might not be resolved for a while, and some that are long-term goals for a specific character. Maybe I should refer to them as "armored suits", or "power suits" instead of "suits". |

Re: Pulse
Oh well. Was worth a try. Thanks anyway and when you look again, if there's anything good I'd be excited to see it.
