New Film, "Wolves" obtaining cast

Well, as if there aren't already some attempts at standalone wolf films, this one in particular caught my eye.

http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=93244

One reason is that they got David Hayter (SNAAAAAAAKE), writer for the X-men franchise, got slapped on as the writer and director for the film.

What makes me happy is that Hayter is going to try to deviate away from your typical werewolf cliches and try something different. So we'll definitely not expect your sparkly hairy muscle teens here.

Also, seeing as they got David Elsey (designer for "Beast" in X-men:First Class" also a Special FX Supervisor for "The Wolfman" along with Rick Baker) to be the lead design for the makeup.

And what really put the cherry on top is that if you scroll down you will find someone else that is tacked on as producer that will put a smile on your face.

So best hopes for this film.

Rick Baker has a big preference for practical effects and wanted to use them more extensively in The Wolfman. I hope Hayter is cut from the same cloth.

Ehm, skipping the fact that I didn't find anything related to female Tfs there (yes, you know what I mean), I am happy to see that there will be one more werewolf movie out there.
But if I were you, I wouldn't let my expectations grow high, because this smells like blockbuster for all audiences with lots of FX but not even implied nudity, adult themes, or women turning into something. I bet that this will be something like Underworld, in the best case .

This sounds like the dream team of werewolf movies to me. Will definitely keep my eye on this one.

I would think it'd be more of something like freeborn where it's just a group of people trying to live their lives as what they are since the main goal is to "avoid cliches" which I assume is not your typical terrible, horrifying monster that's going to eat people. Or, as another example, probably like "Blood & Chocolate". So who knows if this will include one werewolf or 10, we can't really determine at this point. But from what I collect with the title and the aim of the plot, I've got a slight hint that it may be a group of people instead.

Well seeing as how the producer worked on both Splice and Gingersnaps that could suggest the possibility of female TF here as well.

Oh don't mind him. He's just forgotten that good TFs do happen now and then. There's no need to be such a pessimist, man!
