Scouting for werewolf TFs: future Bitten series.
Yeah, I know that you have heard that Kelley Armstrong's books about Elena Michaels, the only female werewolf in her fictional world, were going to be filmed as a TV series in Canada by Space Channel.
So, the question here is if someone has read the books, so we would see some complete (not claws and fang bullshit) long (not "poofs" or similar) transformations. And if you are interesed, the author herself will give updates about the preproduction: http://kelleyarmstrong.tumblr.com/po...bitten-tv-show It seems that the female lead has not been chosen, but the show will being filmed in April. I must say that right now I have some (not many) hopes about this. |

Re: Scouting for werewolf TFs: future Bitten series.
Well, if the TV series stayed true to the books we'd seen her transform completely into a wolf. The process is painful, though not described in great detail, it would be much better than a 'poof' but not quite AWiL each time either. Clothing would rip and be destroyed if still worn during the transformation, and it would be at times involuntary (while under stress, or the very first time she changed). The full moon would not be a factor, her change could happen in the middle of the day. There could be partial transformations, I recall she once just grew claws so she could slash a guy's wrist with them. I hope they don't play too much into that. Also she would pretty much be required to change once a month (though not on the full moon specifically) otherwise she could start changing involuntarily; her body pretty much has to do it every once in a while or things get crazy.
It would probably look like the classic werewolf TF, slow and painful, with tearing clothes, though ending with a quadruped wolf form. Though I highly doubt they will stick closely to the books. They will probably not do the classical transformation, just to avoid the nudity that comes with it. In the books, she doesn't change as often as other werewolves, only as often as she absolutely has to. That results in her not being as good at it as the others, it takes her longer to get started and it hurts her more. There were a few times she just sat around naked waiting for it to start while the others were already done. Also she would transform apart from the males, so if they made a series with her in it.. I would be shocked if they didn't focus on the males during the transformation scenes while she was hiding in another room doing it in private, off screen. I wouldn't count on them showing much of anything is the short version. The potential is there, but expect it to be wasted. Last edited by TF-Viewer; 02-15-2013 at 07:34 PM. |

From memory the descriptions in the books aren't too different from what's shown in the graphic novella "Becoming":

Re: Scouting for werewolf TFs: future Bitten series.
I don't care about female nudity, but I do want to see a good TF, which won't be a "poof", which won't just change clothes with the body (eek), which won't happen offscreen, which won't be a full CGI to something that looks more like a freak creature than a real animal, and which won't be just fangs and claws. All of this sounds possible here.
Now this taboo about female nudity producers have in USA is very tiring... and has been source of many deceptions and incoherence in TF-containing movies. Yet some shows like Game of Thrones (which I think is from HBO & HBO Canada) are much less regarding, and I hear the future Bitten series will be from Canada... so why not hope for this?

Re: Scouting for werewolf TFs: future Bitten series.
Considering that the werewolves rarely if ever see each other transforming because of the body horror and personal nature of the transformations as described in the books I truly doubt we'll see a transformation or process scene. That said, that's not what I'd be excited about. If they do it correctly the PSYCHOLOGY of the transformation and pack dynamics should be really quite good, and ultimately that is more important to me then thirty seconds of transformation fetish fodder.

You might also see transformation of just the hands.

Sorry for the pun, but perhaps I didn't understand well, or you said, in a TF forum, that the TF is worthless for you. Or maybe you are more interested in "mental" changes, but for that topic we have some subforum out there, I don't know. Anyway, I also don't raise my hopes high on this. As TFViewer said, it is probable that we will see one brief TF and then the others all offscreen, like they do in Being Human US. |

No. I'd love to see a detailed transformation. But for the show to succeed and to you know actually get more then just one transformation and a smattering of episodes you kind of need more then that. Stuff for people to connect to. Fetish material is all well and good for us, but it needs more then that to succeed. And yes, I do like the psychological effects of transformations rather then just the body changing. That's only the FIRST part that catches my interest. Much prefer the second.

Re: Scouting for werewolf TFs: future Bitten series.
Meh. I'd rather see a show produce at least one decent female transformation at least once in my life than have yet another mediocre program that cuts away from the scene out of fear of showing a little skin.
Maybe I'm just saying that because I'm mad at the moment. Maybe it's because 'Jack and Diane' finally came out... and it was garbage. |
